Carmelo Anthony

The Detroit Pistons have played better basketball over their last ten games but are still 14 games under .500 with a record of 16-30. They will travel to New York to take on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are back in the playoff hunt since Philadelphia cannot seem to shake loose them or the Boston Celtics. The head to head matchup between the clubs has been dominated by the Knicks. The Knicks are 7-3 SU and ATS in the last 10 games the two have played. Kentucky vs. Iowa State Free Pick

Kentucky

The NCAA tournament will have a number of intriguing matchups Friday March 17. One great second round matchup will see the Iowa State Cyclones face the nation’s number one team the Kentucky Wildcats. The game will tip off Friday night at the KFC Yum! Center.

Iowa State won their first round game against Connecticut 77-64. They beat the Huskies to cover a 1 ½ point underdog spread. Kentucky was an easy winner against Western Kentucky on Thursday night 81-66 in their first round matchup. The Wildcats failed to cover their 26 ½ point favorite spread, but were ahead at times by 30 points and the reserves could not keep that lead.

Iowa State has an overall record of 23-10 SU and they are 20-9 ATS this season. Kentucky has a record of 33-2 SU and is just 13-21 ATS. One reason their record ATS is so bad is they have faced very large favorite spreads and have not held the lead late in games when their reserves come into the game to finish up.

Iowa State is 3-2 SU over their last five games. They lost to Texas in the Big 12 season ending tournament and righted the ship with their first round game against the Huskies of Connecticut. Kentucky is 4-1 SU over their last five games. They lost to Vanderbilt in the SEC Championship game to end the season. They returned four days later however, to beat Western Kentucky handily. The two schools have not met head to head of recent.

The game should be close until mid way through the second half when Kentucky’s size and dominating play of Anthony Davis will take over. The Wildcats will wear the Cyclones down and will win this game SU and the total will be OVER. Kentucky will not be looking beyond the Cyclones and an upset will not be in the cards.

Syracuse vs. Kansas State Free Pick

Orangemen ATS

The second round of the NCAA tournament kicks off Friday with a great set of matchups. One intriguingmatchup has the Kansas State Wildcats facing the Syracuse Orange. Syracuse came into the NCAA tournament with just two losses on the season and one of the favorites to reach the Final Four.

Kansas State won their first round matchup against Southern Mississippi 70-64 to cover a 5 point favorite spread. Syracuse escaped with a victory over the University of North Carolina Asheville 72-65 to make in into the second round. The Orange had been favored by 15 points and did not cover that favorite spread.

Syracuse comes into the game without their starting center Fab Melo who was ruled ineligible before the start of the tournament. Kansas State has one injury as James Watson is out for the season with an arm injury. The Orange does not have any players listed on their injury report.

The Wildcats are 3-2 SU over their last five games. They lost to Baylor in the Big 12 regular season ending tournament, but recovered with their win against Southern Miss. The Orange is 4-1 SU over their last five games. Their only loss in that stretch was to Cincinnati in one of the Big East tournaments semifinal games.

Syracuse was shocked by how well UNC Asheville played and was very close to being upset. That game may be what they needed to get back on track. They will definitely miss the force of Melo inside and their opponents will try to take advantage of that.

This game will be a close matchup with Syracuse playing around the perimeter much more than usual. The Orange will play much better ball than they did in their first game of the tournament. Syracuse SU and ATS and the total will end OVER.

Syracuse vs. Louisville Free Pick

The Big East conference schedule will end this weekend and the tournament will follow. On March 3, the Louisville Cardinals will travel north to take on the Syracuse Orange in the Carrier Dome. Both teams have had successful seasons thus far.

The Cardinals are 22-8 overall and 10-7 in the league and currently are in seventh place in the Big East. Syracuse has only lost once this season. They are currently 29-1 overall and 16-1 in the conference and are the leaders in the conference.

Louisville is 14-12-1 ATS this season and 6-4 ATS while on the road. Their offense is averaging 70 points per game while they only give up just over 62 each game. Three Louisville players have been lost for the season all due to knee injuries. Those three are Mike Marra, Rakeem Buckles and Stephan Van Treese.

Orangemen

Syracuse is ranked second in the nation with their impressive record. They are 15-14 ATS and 9-10 ATS at home. Their offense is scoring nearly 76 points per game, while the defense only allows 60.5 giving the team a comfortable margin of 15 points. Syracuse as this time has no injuries.

In head-to-head matchups, Louisville has been dominant. The Cardinals are 7-2 SU and 7-1-1 ATS in the last nine games the two schools have played against one another. The total has been OVER in 4 of those 9 games. In their last meeting, on February 13 Syracuse beat Louisville 52-51, paying out nicely to those taking the UNDER.

Louisville has struggled a bit of late, as they are just 2-3 SU in their last five games and lost on Wednesday night to South Florida. Syracuse is 5-0 SU in their last five games and has only lost this season to conference rival Notre Dame.

A tightly contested game will be played out with both clubs fighting for the win to maintain a chance for high seeds come tournament time. Syracuse looks good SU and ATS, while the total should pay out to those taking the UNDER. Bet baketball now at our top sportsbooks.

Duke vs. UNC Free Pick

Duke Basketball

All bragging rights will be on the line March 3 in Cameron Indoor Stadium when the North Carolina Tar Heels travel a few miles to take on the Duke Blue Devils in Durham, North Carolina. Both teams have identical records this season. Both teams are 26-4 overall and 13-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. On paper, there is not a more evenly matched game.

The Tar Heels are 16-13 ATS this season and 5-5 ATS on the road. They are averaging 16 more points per game than their defense is allowing. Duke is 13-17ATS this season and just 7-13 ATS at home. Their offense is scoring 10 points more than their defense gives up each game.

The trends also point to an evenly matched game. The Heels are 5-0 SU in their last five road games and 4-2 SU in the their last six games playing at Duke. The total has been UNDER 6 out of the last 9 times the two teams have played at Duke.

Duke also is 5-0 SU in their last five games, but just 1-7 ATS in their last eight games at Cameron. Duke has held a distinct advantage over North Carolina in the last six games the two have played head to head. The Blue Devils are 5-1 SU in those six games. The total has been UNDER in 7 of the last 10 games played head to head.

The game will determine the winner of the ACC and who is given the higher seed not only in the ACC postseason tournament but also in the NCAA tournament that follows.

The last meeting between the two saw Austin Rivers sink a three pointer at the buzzer to cap a rally by Duke. The game was high scoring with the final ending 85-84. Rivers finished that game with 29 points, outscoring the Tar Heels’ Tyler Zeller who scored 23 and took down 11 rebounds.

The game should be tactical and low scoring. A bet for UNDER is where sharp money is being placed. The Blue Devils should take the game SU with the help of their home fans. Bet Duke +1.5 at one of  our top sportsbooks.

Memphis vs. Detroit Free NBA Pick for Saturday

The Detroit Pistons will travel south to face the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum March 3. The Pistons find themselves in last place in the Central division and far from any playoff hopes. Memphis is in fourth place in the Southwest division but is in seventh place overall in the conference. Therefore, if the season were to end today, they would make the playoffs

Grizzlies

The Pistons have struggled the entire season thus far and on the road are just 6-11 ATS. They are only averaging 89 points per game while giving up nearly 96. The only injury the team has at this time is Charles Villanueva who is nursing a sore ankle and there is no timetable for his return.

Memphis has played well in the competitive Western conference and are 17-18 ATS overall and 10-9 ATS at home. They are averaging 93.5 points per game, while giving up just 92. Darrell Arthur is lost to the team for the season due to an Achilles injury and Zach Randolph is out indefinitely with a knee injury.

The two teams are equal in their head-to-head matchups. Both are 5-5 SU, with Memphis is 6-4 ATS in the last ten games between the two teams. The total leans towards the UNDER as it has been UNDER in 8 of those same 10 games between the teams. Earlier this year on January 20, the Grizzlies easily defeated the Pistons in Detroit 98-81 easily paying out on the 5-point favorite spread. The total was 180.5 and was UNDER by 1.5 points.

Detroit is just 2-3 SU over their last five games. Wednesday they easily beat Charlotte by 15 points. Memphis is 3-1 SU in their last four games. In their first game back from the All Star break they between Dallas 96-85 paying out on a 2.5-point underdog spread.

The Grizzlies will handle the Pistons both SU and ATS. Look for the game to be low scoring with a payout to those taking the UNDER. Bet baketball now at our top sportsbooks.
