NFL Monday Night Football

Vikings vs Bears Free Pick

Vikings visit Bears as 3.5-point chalk on MNFWeek 5 of the NFL regular season concludes with Monday Night Football when the Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears in an NFC North clash. The current line on top sportsbooks has Minnesota favored by 3.5 points with the over/under point total on 40.5.

Entering this game, Minnesota on the season is 2-2 straight up and against the spread. On the road, the Vikings are 0-1 SU and ATS. Chicago on the season is 1-3 SU and 2-2 ATS. At home, the Bears are 1-1 SU and 2-2 ATS.

Chicago has changed its quarterback, while Minnesota hopes to do the same Monday when these two rivals meet at famed Soldier Field. Mitchell Trubisky the No. 2 pick overall in the 2017 NFL draft will debut in the NFL at quarterback for the Bears.

The Vikings hope that starting quarterback Sam Bradford can return from a knee injury he suffered in the team’s season opener.

Trubisky said he was excited and ready to lead the Bears offense. He will have a difficult first game against a very aggressive Minnesota defense that recorded six sacks against Detroit’s Matthew Stafford in the Vikings 14-7 loss last Sunday to the Lions.

Minnesota was hit with a big blow last week when rookie running back Dalvin Cook torn his ACL. Against Detroit, quarterback Case Keenum threw for just 219 yards for the Vikings. Bradford practiced on a limited basis, but coaches said if he was ready he would get the starting nod.

Latavius Murray is now the top running back for Minnesota following Cook’s season ending injury. The former Oakland Raiders rusher said his ankle is still not 100% following surgery during the offseason. Vikings wide receiver Michael Floyd returns from a four-game suspension.

Bears running back Jordan Howard continues to run the ball often for the Bears and entering this week was No. 4 amongst rookies in yards from scrimmage with 331. He also leads all running backs in the league in receptions with 24.

On January 1, the Vikings beat the Bears 38-10 in the final game of the 2016 regular season.

Minnesota is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games versus opponents from the NFC North.

Chicago is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games versus opponents from the NFC.

With this free pick, we like Minnesota to cover.

Redskins vs Chiefs Free Pick

Redskings defense must shut Kareem Hunt downWeek 4 of the NFL regular season concludes with Monday Night Football when the Washington Redskins visit the Kansas City Chiefs in an inter-conference showdown. The current line on top sportsbooks has Kansas City favored by 7 points with the over/under point total on 49.5.

Entering this game, Washington on the season is 2-1 straight up and against the spread. On the road, the Redskins are 1-0 SU and ATS. Kansas City on the season is 3-0 SU and ATS. At home, the Chiefs are 1-0 SU and ATS.

This is the second straight game the Redskins will play an AFC West team in primetime, after beating the Oakland Raiders last week on Sunday Night Football 27-10 limiting star quarterback Derek Carr and his Raiders’ teammates to just 128 yards of total offense.

The Redskins defense held the Raiders to just 32 yards on the ground and did not allow Oakland to convert on third down as the Raiders were 0-for-11. However, on Monday the Redskins defense must try to stop rookie sensation Kareem Hunt.

Hunt took over at the start of the season for Spencer Ware who was injured and leads the NFL in rushing yards with 401.

Last week Hunt rushed for 172 yards against the Chargers in the Chiefs 24-10 victory. He is just the first rookie in 36 seasons to score six touchdowns in the first three games of his career.

The Chiefs offense leads the league with an average of 162 yards per game on the ground, while its total offense is No. 3 averaging 397.2 yards per game.

Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins passed for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Raiders last week. Cousins could have two important offensive skills players back from injury this week. Tight end Jordan Reed and tailback Rob Kelley are likely to return after missing last week’s game.

If the Chiefs have shown a weakness this season it is against the run. The Kansas City defense is No. 19 against the run allowing 111.8 yards per game and No. 21 in yards allowed per rush at 4.3.

Chiefs’ linebacker Justin Houston is No. 3 in the AFC with four quarterback sacks.

Washington is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 games on the road.

Kansas City is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games played.

With this free pick, we like Washington to cover.

Entering this game, Dallas on the season is 1-1 straight up and against the spread. On the road, the Cowboys are 0-1 SU and ATS. Arizona on the season is 1-1 SU and 0-2 ATS. This will be the home opener for the Cardinals.

Last week the Cowboys were soundly beaten by Denver 42-17. Dallas could not establish a ground game and quarterback Dak Prescott had to attempt a career high 50 passes versus the Broncos defense.

While Dallas, struggled last week on the road, the Cardinals opened with two straight road games and look forward to hearing their home crowd when they face the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer has thrown just two touchdown passes, while giving up four interceptions in two games. Last week in Arizona’s OT win over Indianapolis, Palmer was sacked four times.

Cardinals wide out J.J. caught five passes for 120 yards. The Cardinals lost David Johnson their versatile running back Week 1 to injury, which has put more pressure on Palmer’s passing game.

Cowboys’ tight end Jason Whitten led the NFL in receptions entering Week 3 action with 17 and his two touchdown receptions were tied for second.

Dallas cornerback Orlando Scandrick should return from injury that caused him to miss the Denver game, while Nolan Carroll another Cowboys cornerback is in concussion protocol and is a game time decision by doctors.

Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald needs just 97 more receiving yards to move into eighth all-time in league history.

Dallas defensive end Demarcus Lawrence was tied for the league lead in sacks entering this week with four.

Arizona linebacker Karlos Dansby led the Cardinals in tackles last week with 10.

Dallas is 2-6 ATS in its last 8 games played.

Arizona is 4-11 ATS in its last 15 games at home.

The Giants must improve their running game. Paul Perkins rushed for 16 of New York’s 35 yards on the ground against Dallas. Shane Vereen did not run the ball against Dallas but did catch nine passes out of the backfield.

Sterling Shepard led wide receivers for New York in Week 1 in receptions with seven and last season caught a touchdown in the Giants 17-6 win over the Lions.

Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon recorded a quarterback sack against Dallas and has 8.5 over his past 10 games.

New York is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games played at home.

With this free pick we like New York to cover.

On defense, the Chargers are led by Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram two pass rushers who sacked opposing quarterbacks 10.5 and 8 times respectively. Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward led the NFL in interceptions last season with seven.

Denver will start Trevor Siemian under center. This is his second season as the Broncos starting quarterback after last season passing for 3,400 yards. He will have two strong receivers in Demaryirus Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders both of whom had over 1,000 yards receiving last season.

C.J. Anderson is once again healthy and will lead the running game for Denver, while Jamaal Charles the former star running back with the Kansas City Chiefs looks to revive his career with the Broncos.

Miller is second in quarterback sacks with 73.5 and forced fumbles with 19 since entering the NFL in 2011. Talib in No. 4 in NFL history with 9 interceptions returned for touchdowns.
