The Indiana Pacers meet the Miami Heat tonight in game 2 of their NBA Eastern Conference best of seven final series with the Heat leading 1-0. Miami defeated Indiana in game 1 103-102 in overtime thanks to a layup by MVP LeBron James with less than a second left on the clock.
Game 1 was as intense and closely contested as any game can be. The two teams combined for 35 ties or lead changes during the 53 minutes of basketball. Neither time was able to get a bigger lead in the game than 7 points. › Continue reading

On Sunday afternoon, the NBA Western Conference finals start in San Antonio. The best of seven series will feature two teams from the Southwest division, as the San Antonio Spurs will host the Memphis Grizzlies for game 1.
The Spurs defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in four straight games and the Golden State Warriors in six to reach the conference finals. Memphis earned a right to play in the finals by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the semifinals. › Continue reading
The NBA postseason has whittled the teams down from 16 to just five. Three teams have reached their respective conference finals, while two teams are battling to earn that right. Tonight the New York Knicks visit the Indiana Pacers in game 6 of their best of seven semifinal series.
The Pacers lead the series 3-2 and can eliminate the Knicks tonight with a victory and move on to the Eastern Conference final against the Miami Heat. New York won game 5 at home in Madison Square Garden to extend the series to a sixth game. Tonight game 6 of the best of seven semifinal series in the Western Conference will be played in Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The Golden State Warriors will host the San Antonio Spurs in an elimination game for the Warriors.
If the Warriors lose, their season ends but a win will send the series back to San Antonio for a seventh and final game. If San Antonio wins, they will move on to the conference finals to face the Memphis Grizzlies who eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. › Continue reading
Tonight’s Game 5 of the best of seven semifinals series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies is an elimination game for the Thunder. Oklahoma City won the first game of the series, but has been defeated in three straight since and if defeated tonight will be eliminated from the NBA postseason.
Memphis has learned how to finish off games as evidenced by three consecutive wins in the series, and now will look to finish the series off and play in their first Western Conference finals against the winners of the other semifinal series between the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. › Continue reading
The New York Knicks visit the Indiana Pacers tonight for game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinals best of seven series. Indiana leads the series 2-1 after splitting two games in Madison Square Garden in New York and winning game 3 at home by 11 points on Saturday night. A win tonight by Indiana would put the Knicks in a precarious 3-1 hole returning to New York.
Memphis and Indiana are the only two NBA teams that are undefeated at home thus far in the postseason. The Pacers won three straight at home in the first round series against Atlanta as well as Saturday’s game 3 victory. Tonight the battle between the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls continues. The two teams continue their best of seven semifinal series in the Eastern Conference in the Windy City with the Heat leading the series 2-1.
The series thus far has had fouls, technical fouls, flagrant fouls, and barbs back and forth between players. The Bulls accused the reigning MVP of the league, Miami’s LeBron James, of being a flopper. James fell over in game 3 after being shoved. His flop, as the Bulls called it, cost Chicago a player and the Bulls are already shorthanded due to injuries. › Continue reading
Northern California hosts the fourth game of the best of seven Western Conference semifinals in the NBA between the visiting San Antonio Spurs and the host Golden State Warriors. The Spurs are in front in the series 2-1, thanks to a fine game 3 by Tony Parker. The Spurs point guard scored 32 points in the game, 25 in the first half.
Parker however hurt his calf in game 3 after being hit inadvertently by Andrew Bogut the Warriors center and is questionable for the game. Nonetheless, he did say on Saturday while having his calf massaged that he would not consider missing game 4. › Continue reading
The NBA Western Conference semifinal best of seven series is tied 1-1 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies. This afternoon game 3 will be played in Memphis where the Grizzlies have won their three playoff games thus far in the postseason. Dating back to their regular season the Grizzlies are 17-1 over their past 18 home games since early February.
Oklahoma City won game 1 of the series on their home court behind their top scorer Kevin Durant, while the Grizzlies came back to win game 2 to even the series and take the home court advantage from the Thunder. The last time these two teams played one another in Memphis, the Grizzlies came away the winners when center Marc Gasol tipped in a last second basket in overtime. › Continue reading
