Colts vs Seahawks Free Pick

Sunday Night Football playSunday’s Week 4 NFL schedule concludes with Sunday Night Football when the Indianapolis Colts visit the Seattle Seahawks. The current line on top sportsbooks has Seattle favored by 13 points with the over/under point total on 41.5.

Entering this game, Indianapolis has an overall record of 1-2 straight up and 2-1 against the spread. On the road, the Colts are 0-1 SU and ATS. Seattle on the season is 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS. At home, the Seahawks are 1-0 SU and 0-1 ATS.

Indianapolis practiced using loud music knowing it will be hard to hear anything at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, especially at night with the team playing in front of a national audience in prime time.

The Colts beat Cleveland last week 31-28, behind backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett who the Colts acquired from the Patriots in early September.

Seattle has not played like a team that won 10 games or more for five straight seasons, as it has struggled on both offense and defense to start the season. Offensively, the Seahawks played well in last week’s loss to Tennessee 33-27, but the defense did not.

With starting quarterback Andrew Luck still not practicing; Brissett will continue to start for the Colts. He became the Colts first ever quarterback to rush for a pair of touchdowns, pass for one other and throw for 250 yards or more as Indianapolis scored 28 points during the first half versus Cleveland.

The defense for Seattle had for many games not allowed an opposing running back to rush for over 100 yards, but has allowed an opposing rusher to do so in two straight games. Last week, the Titans running back DeMarco Murray rushed for 195 yards.

The Seattle offense scored 21 combined points the first two week, but started to click last week with Russell Wilson throwing for 373 yards and four touchdowns. One possible issue for this game is Doug Baldwin the Seahawks top receiver has a groin strain and sat out of practice this week. His status is unknown for the game.

Indianapolis is 26-8 ATS in its last 34 games versus an opponent with a record below .500.

Seattle is 5-2 ATS in its last 7 games played at home.

With this free pick, we like Indianapolis to cover.

Indianapolis Colts 2017 Outlook

While star quarterback Andrew Luck recovered from shoulder surgery during the offseason, his teammates on the Indianapolis Colts went through sweeping changes as the organization looked to change the things that left the team just 8-8 for two straight seasons and no playoff appearances during that period.

A defense that continued to deteriorate and an inability to get the right players on the offensive line to give Luck protection forced Jim Irsay the team owner to shuffle the front office. Ryan Grigson was ousted and Chris Ballard replaced him as general manager.

Irsay kept Chuck Pagano the head coach in place and Ballard will determine his fate following the 2017 season.

Ballard released Arthur Jones a veteran defensive tackle and signed over a dozen different free agents. However, the immediate future of the Colts depends entirely on their quarterback Luck. Most expect Luck to be 100% for the team’s season opener in September.

Ballard brought in a number of players to give Luck more protection. Jack Mewhort will return at left guard, but the right side of the line will be determined during training camp.

Skill position weapons on offense the Colts have. T.Y Hilton is one of the league’s best deep threats and Jack Doyle has been a huge bright spot at tight end.

Frank Gore returns at running back after rushing last season for over 1,000 yards at age 33. Robert Turbin will back him up with rookie Marlon Mack having an opportunity as well.

The pass rush has been almost non-existent of late in Indy. Johnathan Hankins, at nose tackle might be the best anchor on the line the Colts have had in years. Henry Anderson and Kendall Langford two defensive ends will look to return to their form of two seasons ago.

New linebackers brought in include Jabaal Sheard, Sean Spence, Barkevious Mingo and John Simon. The four combined last season for 11.5 sacks for their respective former teams, including five by Sheard with New England.

Vontae Davis returns at one corner and but Mike Adams was lost to free agency. Malik Hooker was drafted out of Ohio State for one safety spot.

The season is a big unknown for the Colts until Luck has a few games under his belt and it can be determined if his shoulder surgery is affecting his arm strength.

Indianapolis Odds

AFC South – 2 to 1

AFC Championship – 14 to 1

Super Bowl LII – 50 to 1

Texans vs Colts Free Pick

Week 14 of the NFL regular season features an important AFC South showdown when the Houston Texans visit the Indianapolis Colts. The current line on top sportsbooks has Indianapolis favored by 6.5 points with the over/under point total on 46.5.

Entering this game, Houston has an overall record of the season of 6-6 straight up and 5-6-1 against the spread. On the road, the Texans are 1-4 SU and ATS. Indianapolis on the season has an overall record of 6-6 SU and 6-5-1 ATS. At home, the Colts are 3-3 SU and ATS.

The AFC South is a battle between three teams Houston, Indianapolis and the Tennessee Titans. All three teams are tied for first at 6-6. Houston, who has beaten Tennessee and Indianapolis once, can clinch a tiebreaker with the Colts with a win on Sunday.

However, the Texans are playing poorly coming into this game. Houston has lost three straight due to a mediocre offense, led by quarterback Brock Osweiler. The Colts offense has returned to high gear as signal caller Andrew Luck has returned from concussion protocol.    › Continue reading

Colts vs Jets Free Pick

Week 13 of the NFL regular season concludes with Monday Night Football when the Indianapolis Colts visit the New York Jets. The current line on top sportsbooks has Indianapolis favored by 2 points with the over/under point total sitting on 48.5.

Entering this game, Indianapolis has an overall record on the season of 5-6 straight up and 5-5-1 against the spread. On the road, the Colts are 2-2 SU and 2-1-1 ATS. New York entering this game has an overall record on the season of 3-8 SU and 4-7 ATS. At home, the Jets are 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS.

Indianapolis hopes that quarterback Andrew Luck returning from injury will kick start its sputtering offense and lift the team to first place in the AFC South. After missing a game because of a concussion, Luck is expected to start Monday against the Jets.

The Luckless Colts were easily beaten by Pittsburgh last week 28-7 as the offense struggled with Scott Tolzien under center. The loss but the Colts in second place behind Houston by one game and a half game behind Tennessee. Houston lost on Sunday so the Colts trail by just a half game.   › Continue reading

Steelers vs Colts Free Pick

Thanksgiving Day football in the NFL concludes with an AFC showdown when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Indianapolis Colts. The current line on most top sportsbooks has Pittsburgh favored by 9 points with the over/under point total sitting on 47.5.

Indianapolis is back in the playoff hunt following consecutive wins, but the Colts are almost sure not to have star quarterback Andrew Luck for Thursday evening’s game. Luck entered into concussion protocol following Sunday’s win over Tennessee.

Titans vs Colts Free Pick

Sunday of Week 11 in the NFL features an AFC South showdown when the Tennessee Titans visit the Indianapolis Colts. The current line on top sportsbooks has Indianapolis favored by 2.5 points with the over/under point total sitting on 52.5.

Entering this game, Tennessee has an overall record on the season of 5-5 straight up and 4-6 against the spread. On the road, the Titans are 2-2 SU and ATS. Indianapolis on the season has an overall record of 4-5 SU and 4-4-1 ATS. At home, the Colts are 2-2 SU and ATS.

Both teams are in must win situations if either wants to have an opportunity to remain in the hunt for the AFC South title. Tennessee might find that difficult as Indianapolis has won 10 consecutive games during the regular season against the Titans and an eleventh straight would give them second place.

After losing 3 of its first 4 games to start the season, Tennessee has won 4 of its past 6 averaging over 33 points on offense. Last week, the Titans routed Green Bay 47-25. The offense has been helped by converting on third down and while in the red zone.   › Continue reading

Colts vs Packers Free Pick

The NFL Week 9 late afternoon games are highlighted by an inter-conference showdown between the visiting Indianapolis Colts and the host Green Bay Packers. The current line on top sportsbooks has Green Bay favored by 7.5 points with the over/under point total sitting on 54.5.

Entering this game, Indianapolis has an overall record on the season of 3-5 straight up and 3-4-1 against the spread. On the road, the Colts are 1-2 SU and 1-1-1 ATS. Green Bay on the season has an overall record of 4-3 SU and 4-2-1 ATS. At home, the Packers are 3-1 SU and 2-1-1 ATS.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers had his best two games this season against Chicago and Atlanta the past two weeks. That helped deflect some recent criticism against the star signal caller about not winning.

Rodgers threw for 3 touchdowns and no interceptions in a win over Chicago followed by 4 touchdown passes without an interception in last week’s 1-point loss to Atlanta. However, it is not just the offense; the defense has given up large chunks of yards and points in a number of games.    › Continue reading

Quarterback Andrew Luck is once again healthy and will lead his Colts when they visit the Broncos. Luck will face a tough Denver pass rush and defense against the run that was instrumental in helping the Broncos to a 21-20 opening game win over the Carolina Panthers.

Lions vs Colts Free Pick

One late afternoon game during Week 1 of the NFL regular season features the Detroit Lions visiting the Indianapolis Colts. The current line on most sportsbooks has Indianapolis favored by 3 points with the over/under point total sitting on 49.

During 2015, the Colts dropped back as Andrew Luck battled with inconsistency prior to suffering an injury that ended his season. Nevertheless, the Colts battled for a playoff spot during the final weeks of the regular season. Luck will return healthy this season and looks to start with a home win.

Last season, Luck missed nine games due to first a shoulder injury that caused much of his inconsistency then a season ending lacerated kidney. The Colts during the offseason made a priority of upgrading their offensive line to give Luck more protection.

Detroit had issues of its own on the offense last year while ending the season dead last in rushing yards per game. The Lions will no longer have their go to guy Calvin Johnson as the wide receiver retired after last season.    › Continue reading
