Tonight the Minnesota Twins visit American League Central Division rivals the Detroit Tigers for the first game of a four game series. The two teams have already played two three-game series, with each team winning three and losing three. The Tigers took 2 of 3 at home in April, while the Twins won 2 of 3 in early May in Minnesota.
The Tigers start tonight’s game with 25-19 record and are currently trailing the first place Cleveland Indians by just a half game. Minnesota has not fared as well and is just 18-25 on the season and in last place in the division 7 games behind the Indians. › Continue reading
The Baltimore Orioles host the New York Yankees in Camden Yards tonight. It is the first time the two teams have met in Baltimore since last season’s playoff series.
The Orioles have had their share of problems lately losing five straight games overall and 7 of their past 10. Baltimore is tied for third place in the American League East four games behind the front running Yankees. The Orioles overall record is 23-20. › Continue reading
The Chicago Blackhawks took care of business in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal with the Detroit Red Wings. However, Game 2 could be far more challenging. The Red Wings looked fatigued in the first contest as they were coming off a physical seven-game series with the Anaheim Ducks.

The Blackhawks have had the Red Wings number this season as they’ve now won all five meetings. Goals have been hard to come by for Detroit as they’ve totaled just six goals in those five contests. They’ll definitely need more offense if they’re to steal Game 2. › Continue reading
At Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia the Atlanta Braves host the Los Angeles Dodgers in an National League east versus west. The Braves returned home on Thursday following a disappointing 10-game road trip where they were just 4-6.
Even though the Braves have not looked like a first place team, they lead the NL East by a full game over the Washington Nationals. At this point, the Braves have an overall record of 22-18. › Continue reading
Cleveland is one of the hottest teams in baseball. They have won 10 of their last 11 games. Attendance does not reflect this however. The Indians have the worst fan attendance in the league. It’s so bad owners and players are giving out free tickets. It reminds me of one of my favorite baseball movies, Major League. With that said we are looking at the Indians tonight and think they may hit yet another win.
Corey Kluber (2-1, 3.06 ERA) takes the mound for the tribe. They are at Detroit who are starting a great pitcher of their own in Max Scherzer (4-0, 3.43 ERA). Detroit and Cleveland have about the same overall record and the pitching tonight matches up very well. The value is that the bookies have Detroit -200 (2 to 1) which we feel is ultra high and has value betting the Indians and even taking the run line. At least the Indians players will get to see what fans coming to the ballpark looks like.
The public is all over Detroit -1.5 run line to the tune of about 85% of them. The public loses more than it wins. Take Cleveland run line. Bet it now at TOPBET

(13-17) Seattle at Toronto (10-19)
1:05 pm EST
It hasn’t been the kind of start that anyone in the Toronto organization imagined for the team or for R.A. Dickey. The “dream team” they have built is well below .500 this year. Seattle isn’t much better but that is no surprise. Dickey (2-4, 4.50 ERA) faces Iwakuma (2-1, 1.67 ERA) who is having an outstanding year thus far. › Continue reading
April 30, 2013 – 7:05 PM EST – On Tuesday the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Boston Red Sox. Boston has had quite the season start thus far and is 18-7 on the year. Toronto, on the other hand, is not living up to the hype. They were picked by some to win the division after their major off-season acquisitions. Toronto is just 9-17.
This is not the end of the season by any means for any team. When you play six months and 162 games anything and everything can happen. We could easily see Toronto in first place in a month or two. As is stands now if you bet to win $100 on each game on Boston this year you would be up right around $1000. If you did the same for Toronto you would be down over $1000. › Continue reading
Tonight at 7:10 EST April 15, 2013 The Cincinnati Reds face the Philadelphia Phillies. The Reds return home to lick their wounds from a disappointing road trip. They started the season 4-2 and won their first road game to go 5-2. The Reds were flying high. They then proceeded to lose their next five games and are at 5-7 now. Tonight they start Bronson Arroyo who is 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA so far this season. He squares off against Cliff Lee who is lights out this season and seemingly returned to Cy Young form. Lee is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA.
Philly, as a team, hasn’t fared much better this season and is just 6-6 (3-3 on the road). They have all their parts in place and many feel that this could be a return trip to the World Series. Chase Utley is playing big right now and has scored 8 runs and has 10 RBI. Ryan Howard and company need to start heating up if this teams wants a chance at postseason play. We are sure that the Phillies will play well this year and need a chance to gel again. › Continue reading
Five of the top seven teams in the NBA play in the Western Conference and two of them meet tonight in the Mile High City when the Denver Nuggets host the San Antonio Spurs. The Nuggets are currently third in the conference just 3 ½ games behind front running Oklahoma City.
Denver has just a half-game lead over fifth place Memphis, as fourth place is locked up by the Los Angeles Clippers due to winning a division. The Nuggets are 53-24 straight up and 47-30 against the spread overall this season. Denver has won its last four games, 8 of its last 10 and 19 of its last 21 overall. Denver leads the NBA with a 35-3 home record and plays three of its remaining five games at home to end the regular season. Denver has won 20 straight home games and has not lost at the Pepsi Center since January 18. › Continue reading
Time is running out. Only a hand full of games remain on the regular season schedule and three of eight playoff spots are still up for grabs in the Western Conference. Tonight the conference’s second seed the Oklahoma City Thunder visits the Utah Jazz who are currently sitting in the eighth and final spot in the conference, but have just a half game lead over the ninth place Los Angeles Lakers.
The Thunder is one game behind first place San Antonio Spurs and three games in front of the third place Denver Nuggets. The Thunder has an overall record of 56-21 straight up and 45-30-2 against the spread. › Continue reading
