Toronto, on the other hand, is not living up to the hype. They were picked by some to win the division after their major off-season acquisitions. Toronto is just 9-17.
This is not the end of the season by any means for any team. When you play six months and 162 games anything and everything can happen. We could easily see Toronto in first place in a month or two. Tonight at 7:10 EST April 15, 2013 The Cincinnati Reds face the Philadelphia Phillies. The Reds return home to lick their wounds from a disappointing road trip. They started the season 4-2 and won their first road game to go 5-2. The Reds were flying high. They then proceeded to lose their next five games and are at 5-7 now. Tonight they start Bronson Arroyo who is 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA so far this season. He squares off against Cliff Lee who is lights out this season and seemingly returned to Cy Young form. Lee is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA.
Philly, as a team, hasn’t fared much better this season and is just 6-6 (3-3 on the road). They have all their parts in place and many feel that this could be a return trip to the World Series. Chase Utley is playing big right now and has scored 8 runs and has 10 RBI. Ryan Howard and company need to start heating up if this teams wants a chance at postseason play.
