Andy Dalton

Cincinnat Bengals 2017 Outlook

The AFC North is expected to be a competitive division for the top three places, with the Cincinnati Bengals expected to finish second or third behind the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Last season was a big disappointed for the Bengals who finished 6-9-1, but Andy Dalton returns under center and hopes are they will once again be very competitive. The defense will once again be their strength.

Poor playoffs showings have overshadowed that Cincinnati was one of the most consistent NFL franchises between 2011 and 2015. The team played in the postseason each of those five seasons and won 10 games or more four times.

Quality veterans once again left the team via free agency during the offseason which has pressured the draft selections to produce the last two seasons. › Continue reading

Football Playoff Betting — Bengals Seek Winning Playoff Formula vs.Colts

Andrew Luck figures to have room to throw on Sunday against the Bengals.

Andrew Luck figures to have room to throw on Sunday against the Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals are known first and foremost for their playoff ineptitude by many football bettors. They may have developed a punishing running game, but they still come into Sunday’s first-round playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts at less than 100%. The loss of a Pro Bowl-level offensive weapon is going to be felt in this wild card game, as NFL betting action is slated for 1:05 PM ET at Lucas Oil Stadium, to be televised by CBS. And don’t forget that the action for BetAnySports patrons continues long after kickoff, with Live Betting Extra.

The Bengals, who lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend and finished second in the AFC North with a 10-5-1 straight-up record (8-8 against the spread), have gotten word that AJ Green, their top wide receiver, who topped 1000 yards this year but suffered a concussion against Pittsburgh, has been ruled out as a result of the league’s concussion protocol. This leaves Cincy in a quandary, as the only other wide receiver they have with more than 193 yards is Mohammad Sanu, who has not scored a touchdown in his last six games and has been below 30 yards receiving in seven of his last eight. › Continue reading

Pro Football Betting — Are the Browns Surrendering By Starting Johnny Manziel?

By Charles Jay

Cleveland's playoff hopes are now in the hands of Johnny Football.

Cleveland’s playoff hopes are now in the hands of Johnny Football.

The Cleveland Browns have been going through a difficult stretch, and their quarterback has had an even rockier experience. Now a move has been made that the Browns hope will turn things back in the right direction for a late playoff run. Or are they? Is this just their way of looking ahead to 2015? That is the basis of some controversy (and questions among BetAnySports patrons)  involving the insertion of former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel into the lineup. In his starting debut he faces the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals in pro football betting action that begins at 1 PM ET at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.

This is a rematch; in the first encounter, Cleveland controlled the game on the ground, with 170 rushing yards, and never let the Bengals get out of the starting gate. Andy Dalton threw three interceptions and the Browns humbled the Bengals by a 24-3 score. That game seemed to be a wakeup call for Cincinnati, as a team that usually doesn’t do too well as the visitor went on a three-game road winning streak. The Bengals looked as if they were going to bring their winning streak to four, this time at home, at least for three quarters. But they allowed 25 points in the final period to the Pittsburgh Steelers and come into this revenge match off a 42-21 defeat. › Continue reading

Football Betting Odds — Patriots Now Have to “Get Well” Against Bengals

By Charles Jay

Has Tom Brady already had his last hurrah?

Has Tom Brady already had his last hurrah?

The entire nation had an opportunity to take a look at the New England Patriots on Monday night, and some football bettors were horrified at what they saw. Those who know the Pats as perennially one of the most successful franchises in the league saw this team being picked apart on defense and unable to get anything going offensively. There was almost nothing this club could do in what was an utterly humiliating 41-14 loss that opened up all kinds of doubts among VietBet patrons as to whether this was a team that was on its way to oblivion.

The Patriots are somewhat fortunate in that they reside in the AFC East, where the competition is mediocre (Jets, Dolphins, Bills). So perhaps if they are indeed in a slide there may not be ramifications so tragic that they will impact the team’s ability to get to the playoffs. On Sunday night, however, this team will be in danger of falling below the .500 mark as it takes on the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals in NFL sportsbook action that is slated for an 8:30 PM ET start at Gillette Stadium on NBC. › Continue reading
