The Orange now has a respectable defense giving up 24.2 points a game, after allowing almost 39 per game last year. The improvement on defense combined with the team’s potent offense that is averaging over 466 yards per game, has made Syracuse a tough opponent.

Signal caller Eric Dungey is in the top five in total offense averaging 354.4 yards a game and has to solid and experienced pair wide receivers in Ervin Phillips and Steve Ishmael, who combined have caught 356 passes at Syracuse.

Clemson is 6-2 ATS in its last 8 games played.

College Football Preview: #7 Florida State Seminoles

#7 in our countdown of the top 25 in college football is Florida State. FSU has 18 returning starters from last year’s squad. That’s even after kicking starting safety Greg Reid off the team.

Florida State has a very good defense with Mark Stoops as the defensive coordinator. Last year the Seminoles were one of the nation’s best against the run at a shade over two yards per carry. The Noles defense was showcased a year ago in their game against their arch rival Florida when they won 21-7 despite doing absolutely nothing on offense.
