Week 2 of the NFL regular season features an NFL showdown out west when the Washington Redskins visit the Los Angeles Rams. The current line on top sportsbooks has Los Angeles favored by 2.5 points with the over/under point total on 46.

Entering the game, Washington after one week is 0-1 straight up and against the spread, while Los Angeles is 1-0 SU and ATS. This is Washington’s first road game, while Los Angeles is 1-0 SU and ATS at home this season.

The Rams will look to continue with the momentum they have following their season-opening rout over the Indianapolis Colts 46-9. Jared Goff passed for 307 yards, which was his career high, with one touchdown. The Los Angeles defense stepped up and shut down the Colts.

The defense should be even stronger this week after Aaron Donald their defensive tackle and Pro Bowler returned to the team. The Rams defense scored two touchdowns off interceptions and recorded a safety as well.

Washington played poorly in its opener to Philadelphia falling 30-17. The Redskins had only 64 yards rushing, and quarterback Kirk Cousins recorded 30 yards on the ground. Cousins completed just 23 of his 40 passes in the game.

Terrelle Pryor the former quarterback turned wide receiver, caught six passes in his first game for Washington after signing a free agent contract. Ryan Grant caught four passes after catching only nine all of last season.

Donald ended his holdout with the Rams one day prior to the season opener and will have a limited role in Sunday’s game.

Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after making a pick six for 39 yards and also recovering a fumble that he had forced.

Los Angeles was the first NFL team to return two interceptions for touchdowns during a season opener in the past 10 seasons. In 2007, the Vikings did the same against the Falcons.

Washington linebacker Mason Foster had 9 tackles in last week’s loss, which is the fifth consecutive game he has had 8 or more tackles.

The Rams head coach Sean McVay coached with the Redskins for seven season prior to taking the Los Angeles job this season.

Washington is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games on the road.

Los Angeles is 1-5-1 ATS in its last 7 games played on grass.

With this free pick, we like Los Angeles to cover.
