Two ranked teams collide on Saturday in Week 3 of college football when the No. 3 ranked Clemson Tigers visit the No. 16 ranked Louisville Cardinals. The current line on top sportsbooks has Clemson favored by 3 points with the over/under point total on 56.

Entering the game, Clemson on the season is 2-0 straight up and against the spread, while Louisville is 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS.

This will be an ACC showdown between two college heavyweights. Clemson is coming off a 14-6 victory over Auburn at home last Saturday. Louisville won its conference opener last weekend 47-35 over North Carolina on the road.

Clemson has won each of the three head-to-head games against Louisville with the most recent October of last year when the Tigers beat the Cardinals in a shootout 42-36.

Last weekend, Clemson’s defense shutdown Auburn keeping the SEC team from scoring a touchdown, and allowed just 117 yards of total offense. Clemson sacked the quarterback 11 times in the game,

However, the offense managed to score just 14 points and gain only 284 total yards. Clemson hurt itself with two turnovers in the game.

The Clemson passing offense is No. 53 in the nation averaging just 248.5 yards per game, but its defense thus far is one of the best in the country.

Louisville gained 705 yards of total offense against North Carolina and will be Clemson’s biggest test to date defensively. The Cardinals rank No. 10 in the nation in passing offense at 385.5 yards per game.

Quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson has 771 yards passing with five touchdown passes. He leads the Cardinals in rushing as well with 239 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Clemson has not played that well on the road in the recent past going 4-6 ATS over its last 10 games away from home and 8-9 ATS in its last 17 versus conference opponents.

On the other hand, Louisville is 4-2 ATS in its past six games as the underdog.

Clemson is 1-5 ATS in its last ACC games.

Louisville is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games played at home.
