Twins vs Brewers Free Pick

Major League Baseball’s Wednesday calendar features an interleague showdown when the Minnesota Twins visit the Milwaukee Brewers. The current line on top sportsbooks has Milwaukee favored at -160, Minnesota at +140 and the over/under run total on 10.

Entering this game, Minnesota on the season is 55-56 overall and 28-23 on the road. The Twins are 5-5 in their last 10 games played. Milwaukee on the season is 59-56 overall and 31-27 at home. The Brewers are 4-6 in their last 10 games played.

Minnesota is close to last in baseball in home runs, but is coming off one of its biggest power displays of this season. The Twins hit five home runs in Tuesday’s home win of 11-4 over Milwaukee and now will visit Milwaukee for two games.

Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler each hit a pair of home runs while Brian Dozier hit a grand slam and moved Minnesota to within just 1 ½ games of the second and final wildcard spot in the American League.

Miguel Sano an All-Star for the Twins was back in the lineup after missing three games with an injured hand but has just one hit in five at bats with three strikeouts.

Milwaukee starts a home stand of seven games on Wednesday after losing three straight and is now 1 ½ games behind Chicago in the race for the National League Central crown.

Minnesota will send Bartolo Colon to the mound on Wednesday. The Twins right-hander is 3-9 with an ERA of 7.32. Milwaukee will counter with Brandon Woodruff. The Brewers right-hander is 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00.

The 44-year old Colon threw a complete game victory in his last outing giving up 9 hits and 4 runs against the Texas Rangers. In his four starts with Minnesota, Colon is 1-1 with an ERA of 5.18.

Woodruff will be making just the second start of his major league career after not giving up any runs during his first. He allowed seven hits while walking two and striking out six in 6 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay last Friday.

Minnesota is 2-7 in its last 9 games on the road.

Milwaukee is 7-15 in its last 22 games played.

With this free pick, we like Milwaukee to win.
