Dodgers vs Indians Free Pick

Interleague action highlights the Major League Baseball calendar on Tuesday when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Cleveland Indians. The current line on top sportsbooks has Los Angeles favored at -160, Cleveland at +150 and the over/under run total on 8.

Entering the game, Los Angeles is 39-25 overall and 14-15 on the road. The Dodgers are 6-4 in their past 10 games played. Cleveland entering the game is 31-29 overall 14-15 at home. The Indians are 4-6 in their last 10 games played.

Two second place teams in their respective divisions meet in this interleague game when the Dodgers visit the Indians in the first game of a three-game series. Over the weekend, the Dodgers swept Cincinnati in three straight including a 9-7 win on Sunday.

Cleveland defeated the Chicago White Sox on Sunday 4-2 to win two of the three games in their series over the weekend with the White Sox.

The Dodgers have won four straight but gained just one game over that period on division leading Colorado whose winning streak of seven straight was snapped Sunday. Los Angeles is 1 ½ games behind the Rockies in the National League West.

Cleveland entered Monday’s games trailing Minnesota by 1 ½ games in the American League Central.

Los Angeles will send Clayton Kershaw to the mound on Tuesday. The Dodgers left-hander is 8-2 with an ERA of 2.20. Cleveland will counter with Trevor Bauer. The Indians right-hander is 5-5 with an ERA of 6.10.

Kershaw won his last start allowing three hits and one run against the Washington Nationals. In the game, he struck out 9 and walked 3. This is just Kershaw’s second start in his career versus Cleveland and first in the past 9 seasons.

Bauer lost his most recent start last Wednesday to Colorado. In that start, he lasted just 3 1/3 innings giving up five hits and four runs with five walks. Bauer is 1-0 with an ERA of 2.31 in two starts during his career against Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is 4-0 over its past 4 games played.

Cleveland is 1-10 in its past 11 games against National League opponents.

With this free pick, we like Los Angeles to win.
