Ravens vs 49ers Free Super Bowl Pick

February 03, 2013

Tonight the Baltimore Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana for the right to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

During the regular season and the playoffs, the Ravens had a record of 13-6 straight up and 9-9-1 against the spread. San Francisco’s record was 13-4-1 straight up and 11-7 against the spread.

Both franchises have won Super Bowls in the past. The 49ers have won five, while the Ravens have won one. Both teams are undefeated in the Super Bowl. The 49ers last win in the Super Bowl was in 1995, while the Ravens won in their only appearance in 2001.

This is the third straight season a team from the wild card round of the playoffs has earned a right to play in the Super Bowl. Baltimore earned its right to ball today after their impressive win over the New England Patriots 28-13 in the AFC Championship.

The Baltimore defense, which gave up loads of points during the regular season, is now back to playing great defense. The Ravens D shut down the offense of the Patriots in the second half of the AFC Championship to punch their ticket to the big game.

San Francisco fell behind early in their NFC Championship game by 17 points, but kept chipping away at the Falcons lead and finally was able to walk away with a 28-24 victory.

The 49ers have performed offensively much better, since a mid season quarterback change was made. The 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick gives the team an added dimensional with his extraordinary rushing skills that complement his strong throwing arm.

The Ravens offense run by quarterback Joe Flacco will look to run first with Ray Rice to open up the team’s passing game.

The line at this time has San Francisco as the favorite by 4 points with the point total sitting on 47 ½. Smart money takes San Francisco less the points with the total points cashing out to those betting the over.
