Packers vs 49ers Free Pick

It doesn’t get any better than this! The Green Bay Packers visit the San Francisco 49ers Saturday in a NFC divisional playoff with the winner heading to the NFC Championship and the loser heading home to prepare for the NFL draft. The Packers enter this game with a record of 12-5 straight up and 9-7 against the spread. San Francisco has had a strong season winning the NFC West with a record of 11-4-1 straight up and 9-7 against the spread.

This matchup is almost a pick’em with the only difference being the 49ers have an edge playing on their home field. The last encounter between the two teams was in week 1 of this season in September and the 49ers won 30-22, but at that time San Francisco still had Alex Smith starting at quarterback.

However, now the 49ers have Colin Kaepernick at quarterback. He has played well in his 8 regular season games and has given the team another dimension as he has run for 415 yards and five touchdowns. San Francisco with the help of Kaepernick and veteran Frank Gore rushing the ball has the fourth best running attack in the league. The 49ers however could find it hard throwing the ball, as Kaepernick has put up just average numbers through the air and the team is no. 23 in the league in passing.

Green Bay because of a loss in the last regular season game had to play last week against the Minnesota Vikings and defeated them 24-10 to punch their ticket to San Francisco. The Pack has Aaron Rodgers at quarterback who can shred most defenses, but he will be facing the league’s no. 2 defense in San Francisco. He will pass first and look to run second throughout the entire game.

Green Bay is on a roll at 9-2 SU over their last 11 games and Rodgers has 29 touchdowns and only 2 picks during that stretch

The current line has the 49ers as the favorite by 3 points with the total at 45. I like the Packers plus the three and I like the OVER.
