Cowboys vs Redskins Free Pick

This is it, win or go home, put up or shut up as they say. In tonight’s last Sunday Night Football matchup of the regular season, the Dallas Cowboys visit the Washington Redskins with the winner earning the NFC East title and a berth in the postseason. A Cowboys loss and they go home for the winter, while if the Redskins lose they have a long shot chance to play in the postseason but would need help from other teams.

The Cowboys enter the game with an overall record of 8-7 straight up and 6-9 against the spread. Washington enters the game as the leader in the division by one game with a record of 9-6 straight up and 10-5 against the spread. The two teams played head-to-head Thanksgiving Day with Washington getting the better of Dallas by the score of 38-31.

Dallas is led on offense by Tony Romo at quarterback and his weapons of running back DeMarco Murray, wide receiver Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Whitten. Dallas is third overall in the NFL in passing this season with an average of just over 300 yards per game.

Their all world rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III, who has amassed over 3,000 yards through the air with 20 touchdown passes and just 5 interceptions, leads Washington. He also has run for over 700 yards on the ground. He is helped by Alfred Morris, who has rushed for more than 1,400 yards this season. Washington leads the NFL in rushing this season.

Romo has not had much success in do or die games, as he has just 1 win and 5 losses in six games that meant win or go home in his NFL career. If Dallas wants to move on, they will have to stop Morris from running the ball and force the rookie Griffin III to beat them.

Dallas has been prone to fall behind early this season and then rally to either win or lose in the last seconds of the game. Look for a high scoring game.

The current line has Washington favored at home by 3 points with the over under total sitting on 49 ½. I like Dallas in this matchup plus the 3 points and I like the over to cash out as well.
