Giants vs Ravens Free Pick

A great matchup of the NFC versus the AFC takes place today when the New York Giants visit the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants have played up and down all season with superb games one week and embarrassing losses the next week. Baltimore has been reeling of late with three straight losses.

The Ravens enter the game 9-5 SU and 5-8-1 ATS for the season, while the Giants are 8-6 SU and 6-7-1 ATS. The Ravens have a playoff berth sown up but they would prefer a win today so they can win the division. New York on the other hand is in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC East with the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants however, are third in the division in tiebreakers and would not make the playoffs if the season were to end today.

Last week the Giants were embarrassed by the Atlanta Falcons 34-0, their first shutout loss in 16 years. New York could only managed 256 yards of offense on the day and turned the ball over three times.

Baltimore has not looked like a first place team of late and lost their third straight last weekend 34-17 versus the Denver Broncos. During this spell of losses, the Ravens have replaced their offensive coordinator but the offense still struggled against the Broncos with just 278 yards of total offense to go with two turnovers and three sacks allowed.

The Ravens defense in the past has bailed them out of many difficult situations, but this season the defense has dropped to no. 26 in the league and has had to be bailed out by the Ravens’ offense.

The two teams have not played head to head since 2008 when the Giants defeated the Ravens 30-10. Before that loss, the Ravens had won three straight games against the Giants.

The current line has the Giants as a 2 ½-point road favorite with the total resting on 47 ½. The Giants will take this road game. Take New York to cover and the OVER will cash out as well.
