Knicks vs Nets Free Pick

Tonight is the Battle of the Big Apple as New York City’s two NBA franchises meet when the New York Knicks visit the Brooklyn Nets. Both teams have started the season well with the Knicks leading the Atlantic division with a record of 15-5 straight up and 13-7 against the spread.

The Nets are in second place in the division trailing the Knicks by 3 ½ games with a record of 11-8 straight up and 10-8-1 against the spread. The Nets are in somewhat of a skid as they have lost four straight games.

Head to head the teams met just two weeks ago in Brooklyn and the Nets bettered the Knicks 96-89. In that game, the Nets were favored at home by a single point and covered. The total was 193 and paid out to the under as the two teams combined for just 185 points. Prior to that game, the Knicks had won 5 of the past 6 games head to head against the Nets.

The Knicks in this matchup have won three of the past four games on the road in this matchup. Over the last 30 plus games played by these two teams head to head, the average combined score is 191.4.

This season the Knicks are averaging 102.8 points a game, while they are giving 95.2 points per game. The Knicks defeated the Denver Nuggets 112-106 on Sunday night and covered a 4-point line as the favored and the total cashed out to the OVER as the total was 204 ½ and the teams combined for 218 points.

The Nets lost on December 9 at home to the Milwaukee Bucks by the score of 97-88. The Nets did not cover the 6-point spread as the favorite, while the UNDER cashed out as the two teams combined for just 185 points on a 193 line.

The current line has the Knicks as a 4 ½-point favorite. I like the Knicks less the points.
