Eagles vs Cowboys Free Pick

December 02, 2012

Two talented teams, playing absolutely horrible football meet in Dallas tonight when Sunday Night Football takes its bright lights to Arlington, Texas. The Dallas Cowboys are 5-6 straight up and 4-7 against the spread host NFC East rival the Philadelphia Eagles with a record of 3-8 straight up and 1-9-1 against the spread.

At the start of the season, football insiders and experts picked these two teams to fight for the NFC East title now both look to be out of the playoff picture unless a miracle happens. Dallas has a slim chance to reach the playoffs but they have to win tonight’s game and each week thereafter.

The offense for Dallas has been its downfall this season. Between injuries and changes of players, the offense has been shuffled more than a Las Vegas deck of cards.

In their first 11 games, the offensive line has given up 26 sacks for the Cowboys, but even worse than that is the offensive line for Philadelphia. The Eagles line has surrendered 34 sacks through 11 games.

Dallas had been hurt this season by mental mistakes including penalties at crucial times in a game. Dallas has more penalties than any other team in the league, while Philly is not far behind in second in that category.

Philly has no way of making the postseason. The Eagles have lost six consecutive games and many feel the team has given up and are looking to next season.

Dallas on the other hand is a Jekyll and Hyde story. One week they look great and the next they cannot get out of their own way. Dallas lost last on Thanksgiving Day to Washington and that hurt their playoff hopes.

Dallas is currently favored by double-digits and in their last six games favored by 10 points or more the Cowboys have 6 wins and 0 losses straight up and 5 wins and 1 loss against the spread.

Dallas dominated the first meeting between the two teams 38-23 as road favorite by 1-point. The current line has the Cowboys as a home favorite by 10 points with the total sitting at 43. Take the Cowboys less the 10 and the total to make winners of the over.
