Buccaneers vs Broncos Free Pick

Denver, Colorado will host an NFL matchup between the host Denver Broncos and the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Denver is the leader in the AFC West with a record thus far of 8-3 SU while they are 6-5 ATS. Tampa Bay has a record this season of 6-5 SU and they are 8-2-1 when ATS.

Denver has six straight victories and has virtually locked up the AFC West. The Broncos will try to make that seven straight with a victory over the Buccaneers. Last weekend the Broncos did not have the success they have enjoyed in prior weeks but won nonetheless against the Kansas City Chiefs 17-9.

Tampa Bay, this season has been a pleasant surprise for many NFL insiders. Prior to last week’s 24-23 loss to Atlanta, the Bucs were winners of four straight outings and were in the hunt for the playoffs. Tampa still has a good shot at the playoffs but must win tough matchups like this one against Denver today.

In their loss against Atlanta, the Bucs’ offense failed to score touchdowns in the red zone and had to rely on just field goals. That hurt late in the game when Atlanta was able to score a touchdown and take the lead, hold on and win.

Denver has the third best scoring average of any team in the NFL at 28.8 points a game, while the Buccaneers are not far behind in 4th place with a scoring average less than a point lower at 28.2 a game. Tampa has a balanced running and passing attack that has allowed them to stay in games even though their passing defense is weak.

Denver is the sixth best team in total passing yards for the season as Peyton Manning has returned from last year’s surgeries leading the way. The Buccaneers received bad news for their secondary when starting cornerback Eric Wright was suspended by the NFL on Monday because of using Adderall.

The line currently has the Broncos as the favorite by 7 ½ points and the point total sitting on 50 ½. Take Denver to win this matchup attacking a weak passing defense. I like the Broncos and the OVER.
