Texas vs Kansas State Free Pick

Two football programs that stared this season with aspirations of a national title face each other with one hoping to qualify for a BCS bowl game and one hoping for any bowl. The Texas Longhorns have a record this season of 8-3 SU as well as 5-6 ATS and are ranked no. 23 in the country. The Longhorns will be taking on the Kansas State Wildcats whose record is 10-1 SU along with 8-2-1 ATS. The Wildcats are ranked no. 7 and a win today could clinch a BCS Bowl appearance.

Kansas State has not played since their hopes of a national title were dashed on November 17 when they lost 52-24 to the Baylor Bears. That loss has been with them for two weeks and they will be looking to take out their frustrations on the Texas Longhorns team.

Texas enters tonight’s game also having lost their last game. Last week the Longhorns lost to the TCU Horned Frogs 20-13. Texas gave up 217 yards of rushing in the game and had four turnovers.

Both clubs have offenses that can score loads of points. Kansas State averages over 40 points per game which is ranked 11th in the country, while the Longhorns average more than 37 points per game ranking them 20th in the country. Defensively Texas is ranked 105 out of the 120 teams in rushing. Even though the Wildcats rush defense is better than that of Texas, the Kansas State allowed Baylor to rush for more than 342 yards in their rout.

The Wildcats have a head-to-head record of 4-0 against Texas in their past four matchups. The Wildcats won in 2010 39-14 and last season 17-13.

The current line has the Wildcats as the favorite by 11 points and the over under points are 62. The Wildcats will win the game straight up, but not by the spread. Take Texas to cover and the OVER to cash out.
