Pacers vs Lakers Free Pick

November 27, 2012

One of the better teams in the Eastern Conference of the NBA heads west to take on one of the best in the West, when the Indiana Pacers visit the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are coming off a win on Saturday night versus the Dallas Mavericks to increase their record overall to 7-7 straight up 6-8 losses against the spread.

The Pacers have won 2 of their past 3 games to move to 6-8 straight up and against the spread. Both teams on paper are much better than they have played thus far in the season. Momentum at this point is with Los Angeles as they start a home stand of three games coming off their road win in Dallas.

The Pacers won a tough game on November 21 against the New Orleans Hornets in overtime but then lost to San Antonio after leading by 17 points on November 23.

The Lakers have had good play from offseason pick up Dwight Howard who is averaging over 18 points per game, 10.7 boards per game and nearly 3 blocks per game. Kobe Bryant is Kobe Bryant and keeps on scoring. The Lakers depth will help them in this game as they can go 9 to 10 players deep and not miss a beat.

Indiana will have very talented players to face the Lakers. Roy Hibbert their center will look to control the inside. Paul George will help the big man. However, the Lakers are just too deep with Pau Gasol, Antwan Jamison, Metta World Peace, Bryant and Howard all contributing on both ends of the court.

The Lakers will not blow out the Pacers, but will beat them by at least 10 points and possibly more. The current line has the Lakers favored at home by 7 ½ with the total points at 197. I like the Lakers less the points and the total to cash out on the over.
