Redskins vs Cowboys Free Pick

What is Thanksgiving without the Dallas Cowboys? It is like turkey without stuffing it just does not work. Because of that, the Cowboys will once again play in front of a home crowd on Thanksgiving against the Washington Redskins. This rivalry overall has been intense for many years. A number of great games between the two teams have been played on Thanksgiving. Does anyone remember Clint Longley?

Today’s game has possible playoff implications for both Washington and Dallas. The Cowboys enter the game at 5-5 SU while they are 4-6 ATS. The Redskins are 4-6 SU and just 5-5 ATS. The Cowboys trail the New York Giants by a game in the NFC East, while the Redskins are two back.

Both the Redskins and Cowboys won last weekend, but they did it in different ways. Washington crushed the hapless Philadelphia Eagles by the score of 31-6. Robert Griffin III, the rookie quarterback for the Redskins had four touchdown passes, while he rushed for more than 80 yards.

Dallas needed overtime for their win over Cleveland last weekend 23-20. Dallas trailed late in the fourth quarter and needed a drive the length of the field in the final minute of play just to tie the game.

The Cowboys offensive line gave up seven sacks to the Browns and Dallas must sure up the line or the Redskins will bother Tony Romo all game. Dallas has key injuries on both offense and defense, but most noticeably, the first two running backs for the Cowboys might not play. Defensively the Cowboys have a tough pass rush with Demarcus Ware who already has ten sacks this season.

Last year Dallas won both games head to head with Washington. The Cowboys were victorious in the first game by 2 points and then won the second game by 3 points.

Currently the line has Dallas favored at home by 3 ½, while the total is 48. Bet the Cowboys less the 3 ½.
