The NFC New Orleans Saints travel west to take on the AFC Oakland Raiders. This game matches a team on the rise and one on its way back down. New Orleans comes into this game with a record of 4-5 SU while they are 5-4 ATS. Oakland is 3-6 SU as well as ATS. New Orleans has turned their season around after starting 0-4, the Saints have gone 4-1 and could reach the .500 mark today with a victory.

New Orleans was able to knock the Atlanta Falcons from the unbeaten ranks last weekend with a 31-27 win. Even though the Falcons outgained the Saints, which is becoming commonplace for the Saints, the Saints were able to hang in pull out the win.

Oakland was completely embarrassed against Baltimore last week to the tune of 55-20. It was Oakland’s second consecutive loss after winning two straight in late October. The Oakland special teams surrendered two touchdowns on the day, which set them back.

Oakland has two key players, one on offense and one of defense, out injured. Running back Darren McFadden will not play today, as well as defensive lineman Richard Seymour.

This season Carson Palmer, the Oakland quarterback has thrown more times than any other quarterback in the league and only has 15 touchdowns and 9 interceptions to show for it. Drew Brees the Saints quarterback has thrown 25 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

Oakland is 7-0 ATS as an underdog at home after losing a game SU as well as ATS. The Raiders lost their last game against the Saints back in 2008 by the score of 34-3. New Orleans, following a SU win, is 10-2 ATS over the last 12 games they have played.

The current odds makers’ line has the New Orleans Saints as the favorite by 6, with the over under total sitting at 55. I am taking New Orleans in this matchup behind Brees, with the total making winners of the OVER.
