Chargers vs Broncos Free Pick

An AFC West rivalry is on hand at Mile High Stadium as the San Diego Chargers visit the Denver Broncos. Denver come into today’s game with a two game lead in the division sporting a record that is 6-3 SU as well as ATS. San Diego has a record of 4-5 SU as well as ATS. Earlier this season the two teams met and San Diego won the first half of the game 24-0, but Denver came out in the second half and scored 35 unanswered points to win the second half and the game 35-24.

The Chargers lost 34-24 last week to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even though San Diego outgained the Bucs by over 150 yards, they committed two big turnovers to throw the game away. Those turnovers were two crucial interceptions thrown by Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. On special teams, the Chargers allowed a punt return to be run back for a TD.

Denver on the other hand, continues to win. Last weekend they defeated the Carolina Panthers 36-14. Over their past four outings, the Broncos are 4-0 SU as well as ATS. Peyton Manning is playing like an MVP this season with 21 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He leads the league with a 108 quarterback rating and has outscored opponents by 85 points in the fourth quarter of games this season.

Defensively the Broncos have played well holding opponents under 100 yards rushing each week and just 218 yards through the air.

San Diego must try to establish a ground game and shorten the game by using up the clock on long time consuming drives. If they can do that, then Manning will have fewer opportunities to hurt them in the game.

The line at this time has Denver favored by 8, with the point total at 48 ½. Take Denver to cover and the OVER to pay out.
