Colts vs Jaguars Free Pick

Tonight’s NFL Thursday Night matchup will be full of luck that is Andrew Luck, the rookie quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts who has already made a name for himself in the league. Tonight Luck’s Colts visit the Jacksonville Jaguars for an AFC South matchup in primetime.

Indianapolis in its first season with Luck at the helm is 5-3 straight up and against the spread. Jacksonville has struggled since the start of the season and is just 1-7 losses straight up and 4-4 against the spread.

Both teams started the season thinking about rebuilding their programs and both were starting with young players at quarterback. However, Jacksonville remains in a rebuilding mode looking towards the future, while Indianapolis behind Luck is looking to the playoffs for this season.

Luck has helped Colts’ fans forget about their 2-14 season last year and about their former quarterback Peyton Manning. Last week the Colts ran up more than 500 yards on offense, had a 10-minute possession advantage and defeated the Miami Dolphins 23-20.

However, one of the three losses the Colts have this season was against this same Jacksonville team, which beat them in week three on a last second 80-yard scoring play.

Last week Jacksonville lost 31-14 at home to the Detroit Lions. At home this season, Jacksonville has last all four of its games straight up and against the spread. In those four home games, the Jaguars have lost by an average of 23 points.

The Colts come to town with the sixth best passing game in the league, the ninth best overall offense in the league and will be facing a Jaguars offense that is last in the league in passing yardage and last in the league in offense overall. The Jaguars have been hurt in their running attack as well due to Maurice Jones-Drew struggling with an injured foot. He will miss tonight’s contest as well.

The current line on tonight’s game has Indianapolis as the favorite by 3 points with the total resting at 42 ½. Take the Jags for the upset.
