Cowboys vs Falcons Free Pick

November 04, 2012

The Atlanta Falcons, the only team left in the NFL with a perfect won loss record, host Sunday Night Football and the Dallas Cowboys. Atlanta’s record is 7-0 SU and they are 5-2 ATS. The Cowboys come into the game with a record of 3-4 SU as well as 3-4 ATS.

The Falcons will face another difficult test tonight to try to remain the league’s only unbeaten team. Last weekend the Falcons were able to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles by the score of 30-17. The Falcons won that game in Philly because of the accurate arm of Matt Ryan their quarterback who threw for 262 yards and three TDs.

Dallas enters this game in a fight for their playoff lives and the season is only entering its ninth week. Dallas thought they completed a last second pass in the end zone last Sunday, but the officials called the pass incomplete and the Cowboys lost 29-24 against the New York Giants.

This season the Cowboys have been their own worst enemy. They gave the ball away six times against New York and now have a -11 plus minus ratio for turnovers. Dallas is also next to last in the NFL in penalties committed with 55.

The Cowboys are 2-0 against Atlanta in their last two head-to-head games that date back to 2006 and 2009. Dallas has a strong passing defense that is only allowing an average of 188 yards per contest. Their pass rush has been strong and they currently have 13 sacks.

The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the past five games the two teams have played head to head. The UNDER has paid out in six of the past seven games Dallas has played away from home.

The current line has the Falcons favored by 3 ½ points with the total at 47 ½. I like the Cowboys in this plus the spread and the total to cash out on the UNDER.
