Oklahoma State vs Kansas State Free Pick

November 03, 2012

The Kansas State Wildcats play host tonight to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Kansas State has a record this season of 8-0 SU and 6-1-1 ATS. Oklahoma State’s record thus far this season is 5-1 SU and 4-3 ATS. Kansas State has jumped to no. 3 in the nation and will look to improve their chances to play in the BCS Championship game with a win tonight.

Each week the Wildcats seem to get more confidence and move up higher in the polls. Last weekend they helped their cause by beating Texas Tech by the score of 55-24. That win was the second consecutive win for the Wildcats over a team in the top 15.

Oklahoma State has the top ranked offensive unit in all of college football. The Cowboys average 586 yards on offense per game. Oklahoma State has a great attack both on the ground and through the air. Joseph Randle leads his team in rushing with 891 yards. As is par for the course, the Cowboys have a great aerial attack. They are ranked sixth in the country in passing offense with an average of 347 yards each game.

The key to tonight’s matchup is whether the Cowboys defense can put a halt to Collin Klein the quarterback for K-State. In two consecutive games, the Wildcats offense has scored 55 points. Klein can both run the ball and throw it, which has created a dilemma for opposing defenses. Klein has 16 TDs on the ground and 12 TDs passing with only 2 interceptions.

Defensively the Wildcats are also strong. They have held offensive powers like West Virginia to 14 points, Oklahoma to only 19 and last week Texas Tech to just 24.

The current line on this matchup has Kansas State as the favorite at home by 8 ½ points with the total for over under at 66 ½. I like K-State to win big in this game, with the total cashing out to those who like lots of points, the OVER.
