Giants vs Cowboys Free Pick

October 28, 2012

The NFC East is in the spotlight this Sunday night in primetime when the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium. The Cowboys have not played consistently this season and 3-3 straight up and against the spread. The Giants have played much better and are 5-2 straight up with 3-3-1 against the spread.

Dallas and New York opened the regular season with a Thursday night game and Dallas won that game in an upset. Quarterback Tony Romo was able to improvise well and identify the blitz in that game. He completed 22 of his 29 passes for 307 yards with three touchdowns.

Romo has passed well this season and the Cowboys have the league’s seventh best passing attack. Dallas is averaging over 277 yards a game through the air.

The Giants on the other hand, own the league’s third best passing attack. Quarterback Eli Manning has 2,109 yards through the air and 12 touchdowns. He leads the league in passing yardage. Victor Cruz has become Manning’s go to guy and has accumulated 50 catches and 627 yards thus far with seven touchdowns.

Dallas may be without the services of DeMarco Murray their top running back who has a sprained foot. Felix Jones, his backup, has a bruised knee and also might not be able to play.

The game could go either way and that is why odds makers have given it a thin line. The Giants come in with good momentum having beaten NFC East rival Washington last week and embarrassed the San Francisco 49ers two weeks ago. They own first place out right in the NFC East and do not look to give it up easily.

The current line has the Giants as the favorite by 2 ½ points with the total sitting on 48. The Giants will avenge their opening game loss to Dallas with a win tonight in Dallas. Smart money takes the Giants less the points, with the total cashing out to the over.
