Notre Dame vs Oklahoma Free Pick

When the NCAA made their schedule they must have looked at this game as one that would highlight the ninth week of the season. Tonight’s primetime matchup has the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame visiting the Sooners of the University of Oklahoma.

Both teams have storied football programs and both teams have rich histories on the gridiron. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the nation and each still has a shot at playing in the BCS championship and being national champion.

Notre Dame enters the game undefeated at 7-0 straight up and 4-2-1against the spread. Notre Dame has played in some close games this season, but has remained undefeated. Notre Dame is trying to earn respect again across the nation and has one of the toughest schedules in football. They have already defeated 3 teams in the top 20 this season and still have the Sooners tonight and USC on their schedule.

Oklahoma comes into the game with a record of 5-1straight up and 3-2 against the spread. The Sooners only loss of the season was to Kansas State 24 to 19. The Wildcats are ranked third in the country.

Since their loss to KS the Sooners have played tremendous football beating Kansas and then destroying the Texas Longhorns 63-21, as well as their other opponents. The Sooners are ranked no. 5 in the country in total scoring on offense and no. 12 in the country in scoring defense. Oklahoma has not faced the same competition as Notre Dame and that could work both for and against them in this matchup.

Oklahoma has 6 wins and 1 loss against the spread in their past 7 games played against non conference teams. Notre Dame has 2 wins and 5 losses against the spread in their past 7 games on the road against teams with a winning record.

The current line has Oklahoma favored at home by 12 ½ points with the point total at 48. The point total will cash out to those taking the under, while the tough pick is picking a winner. Take the Sooners on their home field to win outright and cover the large spread.
