Michigan vs Nebraska Free Pick

October 27, 2012

The Michigan Wolverines visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers tonight. Both schools have powerhouse football programs and are always amongst the best teams in the nation. The teams both have the same record this season of 5-2 SU as well as ATS. The matchup of Big Ten schools will entertain fans from the opening kickoff to the end of the game. Michigan is currently ranked no. 22 in the country and defeated in-state rival Michigan State last week on a last second field goal.

Nebraksa was able to defeat Northwestern 29-28 in their game last week. Both schools will enter tonight’s game on a big high and this game could have huge implications on the final results in the conference.

The two schools have played head to head just three times since 1986. Michigan is 2-1 SU over those three games, including last season’s thrashing of the Cornhuskers by the score of 45-17. Both teams love to run the ball on offense and both are amongst the top 20 teams in the nation in that stat. Tonight’s winner should be able to win the Legends division of the Big Ten and a possible trip to the Rose Bowl.

Michigan’s offense is no. 17 in rushing this season and on defense the team is no. 16 in points allowed. The Wolverines two losses this season have been to teams that are currently no. 1 and no. 5 in the country. In week two of the season, Michigan allowed Air Force to score 25 points in the game, but since then, no team has scored more than 13 against the Wolverine defense.

Nebraska is ranked no. 6 in the country in rushing and its offense is no. 12 in scoring.

The line currently has the Cornhuskers favored at home by 2 points with the total for over and under at 57 ½. Smart money takes Michigan plus the 2 points and the UNDER.
