Thursday night football visits the Grand Ole Opry when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, Tennessee. The Steelers are currently 2-2 SU on the season and 1-3 ATS. Tennessee has started slow and is only 1-4 SU and has the same 1-4 record ATS. The game tonight will highlight the strong offensive play of Ben Roethlisberger the Steelers quarterback against a Tennessee defense that has more holes than Swiss cheese.

Pittsburgh returned to .500 last week, with a clutch victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Roethlisberger led his offense 64 yards down the field late in the fourth quarter and placekicker Shaun Suisham connected on a field goal as time ran out to give Pittsburgh a hard fought 16-14 victory. It was the 25th time in his career that Roethlisberger has driven his team down the field for a comeback in the fourth quarter.

Tennessee lost last week to Minnesota 30-7. The Titan defense gave up their fewest points of the year in the loss. Thus far, in five games played, the Titans have given up 181 points, which is the worst in the entire league. In their only win, they allowed the Detroit Lions to score 41 points.

The Titans offense is also floundering. Starting quarterback Jake Locker will miss his second consecutive game and will be replaced by veteran Matt Hasslebeck. Chris Johnson who has run for over 2,000 yards in a single season was held to just 24 yards last week in the team’s loss to the Vikings.

The Steelers have won three consecutive games against Tennessee and Roethlisberger is 3-1 SU in his career against the Titans. Nevertheless, the Titans are 8-2 SU in their last 10 head-to-head home games against the Steelers. However, the Steelers are 6-4 SU in the last 10 games overall between the two teams.

The line at this time has Pittsburgh favored by 6, with the point total at 43.5. Smart money is taking Pittsburgh less the points, with the total paying out to those who take the OVER.
