Nebraska vs Ohio State Free Pick

The NCAA season is nearly half over and teams are hoping to continue their winnings ways in order to qualify for a bowl game. Tonight two perennial powerhouses in college football meet. The Ohio State Buckeyes host the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a Big Ten matchup. Ohio State is 5-0 SU on the season, but just 2-3 ATS.

Nebraska lost to UCLA for its only loss of the season. The Cornhuskers are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS. Both teams are nationally ranked. Ohio State comes into the game ranked no. 12 in the nation and a win could propel them into the top 10, while Nebraska is ranked no. 21. Ohio State is on probation this season and ineligible for postseason bowl games, therefore big games such as tonight’s matchup are all that more important to the players.

Both teams use running games to drive their offenses. The Nebraska ground attack is ranked fifth in the nation behind Ameer Abdullah who has rushed for 485 yards and six TDs. The Cornhuskers’ quarterback Taylor Martinez is also an excellent runner, but has turned his passing game into a valid option for the team. Martinez has a touchdown/interception ratio of 11/1 this season.

Ohio State is ranked no 21 in the nation in rushing. Braxton Miller the Buckeyes QB has over 900 yards passing, but also has 577 on the ground. Miller has thrown for eight touchdowns and has run for another seven.

The Cornhuskers have not been successful in Big Ten games of late and are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five and it gets worse for them on the road, as they are just 0-3-1 in their last four road Big Ten games.

The UNDER has done well in games the Cornhuskers and Buckeyes have played in. The UNDER has cashed out in 5 of the last 7 games Nebraska has played against a Big Ten opponent. For Ohio State, the UNDER has cashed out in 9 out of the past 12 games the Buckeyes have played against teams with a winning record

Odds makers have Ohio State as the favorite by 3 points and the total at 56 ½. Take Ohio State less the 3 points and the total to cash out on the UNDER.
