Washington State vs UNLV Free Pick

The college football season continues tonight in Las Vegas, when the UNLV Runnin Rebels play host the Pac-12 Washington State Cougars. The Rebels have had a tough start to their season going 0-2 SU and just 1-1 ATS. Washington State has fared somewhat better as they are 1-1 SU and 0-2 ATS. The two schools have only played head to head three times since 1986. The Cougars are 3-0 in those three games and have defeated the Rebels by at least 21 points in all three games.

Mike Leach is the new head coach for Washington State and brings with him a high scoring potent run and shoot offense that can produce many touchdowns during the course of a game. Before coaching at Washington State, Leach coached at Texas Tech where his teams were always near the top of the list in scoring points.

Leach will use quarterback Jeff Tuel to run his offense against the Rebels. Tuel has played well in the first two games of the season, but is prone to force the ball at times. That has caused him to throw unneeded interceptions. Against strong teams, that has led to problems as the Washington State defense is not that strong and opposing offenses have scored easy points on turnovers.

The Rebels football program has had problems under its head coach. The Rebels are just 4-23 in the two seasons Bobby Hauck has coached. This season does not look that much more promising. The team lacks leadership on the field, and has not played well in pressure situations.

Currently odds makers have placed the Cougars as the favorite by 8 points playing on the road. The over under total is sitting at 55. Smart money bettors by a two to one margin are taking the points and UNLV to cash out. The over/under will pay to those taking the OVER as this game will not have that much defense.
