Dodgers vs Marlins Free Pick August 11 2012

The Los Angeles Dodgers have clawed their way back to the top of the National League West. After starting the season with the best record in baseball, the Dodgers slowly fell out of first place and trailed the San Francisco Giants by as many as three games. However, with their in Friday night against the Miami Marlins, the Dodgers tied the Giants for first place. After 113 games played this season, the two teams are tied for first with identical 61-52 records. Tonight the Dodgers and Marlins playe game two of their three game series.

The Dodgers were led in their win over the Marlins by former Marlin Hanley Ramirez. Ramirez had three hits, two RBIs and scored a run. The Dodgers have now won two consecutive games and four straight on the road. Last night’s game was the first of 10 straight games away from home for the Dodgers.

Tonight the Dodgers send Joe Blanton, the veteran right hander to face the Marlins. Blanton has a record this season of 8-9 with a 4.52 ERA. The Dodgers acquired the nine year veteran from the Philadelphia Phillies last week and he made his debut in a Dodger uniform last weekend. He did not factor in the decision, but in six innings of work gave up five hits and just two runs. While Blanton was with Philadelphia, he faced the Marlins on three occasions and had a record of 1-2.

The Marlins have struggled the entire season. The team is currently in last place in their division 19 games out of first place. Miami has lost two consecutive games and is 4-6 over their last 10. Tonight the Marlins will give the ball to pitcher Ricky Nolasco to face Los Angeles. Nolasco has a season record of 8-11 with a 4.95 ERA. He has not pitched well since the early July All Star break. Prior to the break, he won two consecutive starts, but since the break, he is 0-5 with an ERA of over 7.00.

The line on tonight’s game has the Dodgers favored at -126 with Miami as +116. The total is sitting at 8. Take Los Angeles to win with the total cashing out to those bettors who opt for the UNDER.
