College Football Preview: #16 Wisconsin Badgers

August 10, 2012

If there is a team that is always underrated, it is probably Wisconsin. When people mention the “Big Boys of the Big Ten” they always talk Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and now Nebraska. Wisconsin normally gets lumped in with Iowa, Michigan State, and Illinois.

But it’s Wisconsin that has played in the last two Rose Bowls. Wisconsin has been very good for a long time now. Brett Bielema has been the coach since 2006 and has a record of 60-19. That’s pretty darn good folks.

Wisconsin does it the same way every year. They put big boys on the line and give the ball to a big back and pound it at you. Last year running back Montee Ball ran for over 1900 yards. He is back this year and is a Heisman candidate.

The Badgers have finished in the rankings every year but one since 2004. Many folks think losing Russell Wilson at quarterback will hurt the Badgers. But remember, he was only there for one year. It’s not like the Badgers stunk before he got there.

If you sleep on the Badgers, you will make a mistake. They have been too consistently good for too long to think they won’t be good again this year.

The Badgers return four starters o the defensive line. We LOVE teams with experience on the D-Line. Beau Allen, Ethan Hemer, Brendan Kelly and Pat Muldoon are all back this year and are all good.

They also return two All Big Ten linebackers in Chris Borland and Mike Taylor. So really, does Wisconsin need a great quarterback? All they need is a guy to hand the ball off without dropping it and they will win a lot of games.

At Wager Web Wisconsin is +5500 to win the national Championship. We love this bet. $100 would win you $5500.00 and this is not that unlikely to happen. Wisconsin will be a very good team once again. And any team with a good defense can win any game they play.

their schedule looks like this: They start with Northern Iowa and then visit Oregon State. Those should be two easy wins. ThenUTEP and Utah State come to Madison. Two more easy wins are likely there too. Then the Big Ten schedule kicks in with Nebraska on the road. But then as far as Big Ten schedules go, it’s relatively easy from there. The only two games that look tough are Michigan State and Ohio State and they both have to come to Madison. Plus with Ohio State and Penn State both on probation, who is there to keep the Badgers out of the Big Ten Championship Game?

We love this team to finish higher than they are currently ranked.
