Thunder vs Heat Free Pick June 19 2012

The American Airlines Arena will be the site of tonight’s game four matchup of the NBA finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat. Miami leads the best of seven series 2-1 and can put the Thunder on the brink of elimination with a win tonight. The Heat were in the same situation last year against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals, but lost the game and the series 4-2.

Lebron James and Dwayne Wade have been doing most of the offensive damage for the Heat against the Thunder. In the first three games, James has averaged 30 points per game. In game three, he had 29 points and pulled down a team high 14 rebounds. Wade scored 25 on the night and dished out 5 assists and grabbed 7 rebounds.

The Thunder has counted on the offense of Kevin Durant all season and in the playoffs. He has not disappointed them as he too is averaging over 30 points a game in the finals. However, he is not getting the offensive support from Russell Westbrook or James Harden. Both players are having subpar finals’ series thus far. Westbrook has had trouble shooting and even though he had 19 points in game three and 27 in game two, it is taking him many more shots to score those points. Harden scored only 9 points in game three and in game one had just five points.

The Heat would like to put the Thunder in a 3-1 hole after tonight’s game and end the series at home on Thursday night. If the Thunder can win one of the next two games in Miami, they know they will have the last two games of the series at home. This game is very pivotal to the outcome of the series and Miami knows that better than anyone, thanks to last season.

The line opened with the Heat as a favorite at home by 3 points and has since increased to 3 ½. The point total is at 192 ½. Take the Thunder plus the 3 ½ to cover as the road ‘dog. The total will make winners of those who take the OVER.
