Heat vs Celtics Free Pick June 1, 2012

June 01, 2012

The Boston Celtics host the Miami Heat for game three of the eastern conference finals. The Celtics lost the first two games on the road in Miami and look to right the ship in Boston. Only 14 NBA teams have recovered from 0-2 deficit to win a seven game series and the Celtics are hoping to be the 15th team to do so. The scenario is even worse if Boston loses game three and trials 0-3 in the series. NO NBA team in league history has ever won the last four consecutive games of a seven game series after losing the first three.

Boston must regroup after their tough overtime loss to the Heat on Wednesday. The veteran Celtics need to slow the game down and take as much time off the shot clock as possible setting up their half court sets. That will be much easier to accomplish at home than on the road.

The Celtic will need excellent efforts from Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo to defeat the Heat. Rondo scored 44 in game two against Miami, while Ray Allen had his best effort since the playoffs started.

Miami will continue trying to play up-tempo with LeBron James carrying the bulk of the load on offense, with help from Dwayne Wade. The Heat will continue to penetrate and try to get good looks at the hoop form inside and get to the foul line as much as possible. In game two, the Heat took 47 foul shots.

Boston has lost the first two games of the series nevertheless; oddsmakers have given them the favorite status for game three. The line has Boston as a 2-point favorite with the game total at 180 ½. The Celtics at home are tough, especially coming off a road loss (9-1 SU, 7-3 ATS). Take Boston less the points to win game three, with the total making the UNDER bettors happy.
