Celtics vs Heat Free Pick May 30, 2012

May 30, 2012

Game two of the eastern conference finals tips off tonight in Miami, as the Miami Heat host the Boston Celtics. The Heat cruised to an easy win against the Celtics in game one 93-79. The Celtics were able to rally early in the game from a double-digit disadvantage but early in the second half, the Heat started to pull away and cruised to the victory. The Heat easily cashed out on the 8-point favorite spread. Boston is not yet in a do or die situation, but the veteran team must regroup and play a strong four quarters instead of just one.

Boston was able to put up 35 points in the second quarter of the game, but could only manage to score 44 points in the other three quarters combined. Miami shot 50% from the field and were led by the 32 points and 12 boards from LeBron James. The Heat was able to outrebound the Celtics by 15 rebounds.

Boston must shoot better from the foul line. In 21 attempts in game one, the Celtics made just 11 and Ray Allen, one of the best career foul shooters in the league, missed four in a row at one stretch. Miami is now 4-2 SU and ATS without their big man Chris Bosh during the postseason. Bosh is not scheduled to play in game two.

The Celtics not only shot terrible from the free throw line but from the field as well. The Celtics best shooter from the field was Kevin Garnett and no other player shot better than a lowly 37%. The conference semifinals and finals are shaping up to be dominated by the favorites. The favorite is 15-0 SU in the last 15 games and 12-2-1 ATS in those same 15 games. The Heat is 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four games as the favorite.

The line has the Heat as the favorite at home by 8 points with the total resting at 177. Take the Celtics plus the points to cash out ATS. The total will pay out to UNDER, as the Celtics defense will keep James and Dwayne Wade in check.
