Celtics vs Heat Free Pick May 28, 2012

May 28, 2012

The Boston Celtics visit American Airlines Arena in Miami for the first game of their eastern conference finals against the Miami Heat. The Celtics took seven games to defeat Philadelphia 76ers in their semifinal series, while the Heat needed six games to eliminate the scrappy Indiana Pacers.

Most experts have the Heat easily winning this series, even though Boston defeated them three out of the four times they played during the season. Boston also has veterans who have played and won a championship and knows what it takes to win.

The Celtics will be without Avery Bradley. The rookie, who started for Boston had his shoulder operated on and is lost for the season. Chris Bosh is still out injured for the Heat, but is expected to return sometime during the series.

Boston will rely tonight as they do every game on Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo for their offense. Pierce led the team in scoring this season and Garnett has led the team in scoring during the playoffs. Rondo is the court general and will look to average in double figures in assists and points scored in each game.

The Heat has LeBron James and Dwayne Wade to carry the load both offensively and defensively for the team. Picking up some of the slack for Bosh’s absence will be Shane Battier and Udonis Haslem.

The Celtics will also have veteran Ray Allen and Brandon Bass who will help them offensively. The key to the Celtics is to slow the game down and not allow the Heat to play up-tempo, otherwise the fleet-footed Heat will run away with the game.

The line opened with the Heat as an 8-point favorite and has not move from there. The total is sitting at 180. The Celtics will battle to the end in this game and will win ATS, but the Heat will take the game SU. The total will cash out to those on the UNDER side.
