Pacers vs Heat Free Pick May 22, 2012

May 21, 2012

The eastern conference semifinal best of seven series between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers is tied 2-2 and returns to Miami for game five on Tuesday May 22. The Heat were able to tie the series at two with an impressive road win in game four 101-93. Miami showed they could come together as a team as they overcame the 18,000 screaming fans to regain home court advantage in the series.

The recently crowned NBA MVP LeBron James showed why he is the team’s MVP as well as the leagues. He scored a game high 40 points, grabbed 18 boards and dished out nine assists. Teammate Dwayne Wade scored 30 points with all but eight in the second half.

Chris Bosh has been out injured since early in game one and the Heat has been in a tailspin since then. However, James picked his teammates up and threw them on his shoulders and won the game almost singlehandedly.

The series is far from over. The Heat however, finally got some good play out of Udonis Haslem who had 14 points but was close to invisible the first three games. Indiana was ahead by 10 during the third quarter but could not hold the lead against the Heat.

Danny Granger’s 20 points and 13 paced Indiana from Paul George. Roy Hibbert who dominated both ends of the court in game 3, could only manage 10 points and got into serious foul trouble in the second half of the game.

The Heat did not want to go down 3-1 in the series, as only eight teams in the history of the league have ever returned from that deficit to win a series.

The early line has the Heat as a 7-point favorites after opening at 7 ½. The total is sitting at 180 ½. Smart money takes the Heat SU and the Pacers ATS in this with the total cashing out to OVER bettors.
