Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks Free Pick

Dirk

The NBA is heading towards the playoffs and teams are looking to get the highest possible seeding. The NBA calendar has an excellent matchup of playoff bound teams when the Dallas Mavericks head east to take on the Miami Heat March 29. This is a rematch of the NBA championship final of last year that was won by the Mavericks.

Dallas enters the game with an overall record of 29-22. They are currently in fifth place in the Western Conference playoff race. They have won their last two games and six of their last 10. Miami has lost two straight and has an overall record of 35-13, the third best in the NBA. They are three and a half games behind the Chicago Bulls for the best record in the East.

Both teams have two players listed as injured. The Mavericks have starting center Brendan Haywood out with a knee injury and reserve Delonte West nursing a sore hand. The Heat will be without the services of Mike Miller who has an ankle injury. Star player LeBron James is listed as day to day with a hand injury but will most likely suit up for this game.

Dallas has dominated the head to head series 7-3 SU and 5-4-1 ATS over the last 10 games the two have played against one another. The total has been OVER 6 times, UNDER 3 times with one PUSH in the same 10 games. The two have met just once this season. That game was played on Christmas Day, the opening day of the season. Miami won that game 105-94 at Dallas.

Dallas is 3-2 SU over their last five games and won back to back games against the Houston Rockets. Miami has lost two straight and is 2-3 SU over their last five games. Both losses were on the road. The two teams are evenly matched. Both know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and this game will be tightly matched from the start.

Smart money will take the Mavericks plus the points, with the total ending OVER.
