Knicks vs. Pistons Free Pick

March 24, 2012

Carmelo Anthony

The Detroit Pistons have played better basketball over their last ten games but are still 14 games under .500 with a record of 16-30. They will travel to New York to take on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are back in the playoff hunt since Philadelphia cannot seem to shake loose them or the Boston Celtics. The Knicks record for the season stands at 23-24 and is 5-0 SU over their last five.

Both teams have players on the injury list. One, Rodney Stuckey, is day to day for the Pistons. The Knicks have two players, Jared Jeffries and Bill Walker out injured. The head to head matchup between the clubs has been dominated by the Knicks. The Knicks are 7-3 SU and ATS in the last 10 games the two have played. The total in those 10 games has been UNDER 6 times and OVER 4 times.

The two have met on two occasions this season with New York winning both games. In early January, the Knicks defeated the Pistons in Detroit by 14 to cover a 4 point underdog spread. In late January, the Knicks beat Detroit at MSQ by the score of 113-86 to cover a 10-point favorite spread.

The Pistons have lost three straight but are 5-5 SU over their last 10 games played. They have lost the three straight on the road. The Knicks have won five straight games and are in eighth spot in the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference. They are just two games behind the Celtics for the seventh spot in the playoffs and one and a half games in front of Milwaukee who is in ninth place.

The Pistons are road weary and the Knicks see playoffs. Therefore, the Knicks will win this game SU and ATS. The total should end UNDER. With the win, the Knicks will help to solidify their playoff position and hold off the Bucks. (See Our Sportsbook Reviews for a trusted place to bet on this game)
