Dallas Mavs vs. L.A. Lakers Free Pick

March 21, 2012

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to stay atop the Pacific division tonight as they visit the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center. Both clubs have played at times like the former champions they are and both have played mediocre.

The Lakers come into the game with a 28-17 record overall. The Lakers are 20-25 ATS and 7-16 ATS when

Mark Cuban

playing on the road. Dallas has a similar record of 26-20 overall. The Mavericks are 23-23 ATS and 10-11 ATS when playing at home.

Kobe Bryant leads both the Lakers and the league in scoring. He is averaging 28.7 points per game. He also leads the Lakers in assists per game. Helping him in scoring is the teams second leading scorer Pau Gasol. Andrew Bynum leads the teams in rebounding. The Mavericks are lead by All Star forward Dirk Nowitzki. He has improved his play of late, after being hampered earlier in the season with an injury.

Dallas has three players injured. All three are key players on the club. Brendan Haywood is the team’s starting center and is day to day with a knee injury. Shawn Marion is day to day as well, as is Delonte West.

The teams have been fairly even when playing head to head. Dallas holds an advantage of 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 games between the two teams. The scoring in the games is generally high as the total has been OVER in 7 of those same 10 games.

The two teams have met twice this season. The Lakers have won on both occasions, once in Dallas and once in Los Angeles. The first game between the two was one of the lowest scoring games they have played. The Lakers edged the Mavericks in Dallas 73-70.

This game will see a great deal of defense and will be atypical of the last ten. Look for a low scoring defensive battle with the Lakers winning ATS. The total will end UNDER. Bet these picks now at one of our trusted sportsbooks.
