St. Louis vs. La Salle NCAA Free Pick

March 09, 2012

The Saint Louis Billikens host the La Salle Explorers in an Atlantic 10 Conference tournament matchup March 9. The Explorers finished their regular season with an overall record of 21-11 and a conference record of 9-7. Saint Louis had a very successful regular season with an overall record of 24-6 and an Atlantic 10 record of 12-4 behind just Temple in the conference.

The Explorers are averaging nearly 8 points more per game then their defense is allowing opposing teams. Saint Louis has a very good defense, has allowed only an average of 56 points per game, and has outscored

opponents by over 12 points per game. La Salle is the only team of the two with a player on the injury list. Ramon Galloway is listed as day to day with a head injury.

Over the last eight games the two have met head to head, Saint Louis holds a 5-3 SU advantage. The total has been evenly spread 4-4 for the OVER/UNDER in those same eight games. Only one point separates the two teams in scoring average over the eight games.

The two played only once head to head this past season with Saint Louis defeating La Salle on La Salles home court 59-51. The Billikens covered the 3-point favorite spread and the total paid out to those placing sharp money on the UNDER.

La Salle ended their regular season with three consecutive victories and a 3-2 SU record over their last five games. Saint Louis ended even better. They were 4-1 SU over their last five games. Even though the two teams are fairly well matched, Saint Louis has the more talented team and has played much better throughout the season.

The game will be hard fought but the Saint Louis defense will succeed in shutting down the La Salle offense. Saint Louis will win SU and ATS, with the total paying to UNDER bettors.
