NBA Free Pick Phoenix vs. Dallas

March 08, 2012

Dallas Mavs

The inconsistent Dallas Mavericks travel west to visit the Phoenix Suns in a Western Conference matchup. Dallas is 23-17 and currently in sixth place in the race for Western Conference playoff spots. They are only a game out of third place in the race. They currently trail the Thunder, Spurs, Clippers, Lakers and Grizzlies.

The Suns are struggling to say the least and are currently in 12th place in the Western Conference with a record of just 17-20.

Dallas has three players nursing injury. Two, Delonte West and Brandan Wright, are out indefinitely, while Brendan Haywood their starting center is day to day nursing a sore ankle. Phoenix has no injuries to report. Dirk Nowitzki the Dallas power forward is playing much better of late. He scored 40 and 27 in consecutive games recently.

The last 10 games head to head between the two teams have been completely dominated by Dallas. Dallas is 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS in those 10 games. The total has been UNDER in 7 of those same 10 games. This season the two teams have faced off on three occasions with Dallas 3-0 SU and ATS. The total has been UNDER twice and OVER once.

Dallas, as mentioned earlier, has been inconsistent of late and is just 2-3 SU over their last five games. They beat Utah and New York but have lost to Oklahoma City, Memphis and New Orleans. In those five games, the total has been UNDER three times and OVER twice. Phoenix is doing well of late and is 3-1 SU, with three consecutive wins to their credit. One of those wins was against Pacific division co-leader the Los Angeles Clippers.

The game should be close since it will be played on the Suns’ home court. Take Dallas ATS and the UNDER.
