NBA Boston vs. New York Free Pick

Stoudemire

The matchup of the New York Knicks versus the Boston Celtics once was one of basketball’s most bitter rivalries. The rivalry has fallen off of late, but the two will meet Sunday afternoon March 3 to try to heat it up again. Both teams are hovering around the .500 mark as the Knicks are 18-18 and the Celtics are 18-17. Currently the Celtics are in second place in the Atlantic division and the Knicks are in third.

Carmelo Anthony leads the Knicks on offense and newcomer Jeremy Lin. Tyson Chandler controls the boards for the team. The Knicks are averaging 96 points per game while giving up 94. Veteran guard Paul Pierce leads the Celtics offensively. Defensively the Celtics are led by power forward Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. The Celtics are one of the league’s best defensive teams allowing just 88.7 points per game.

The Celtics have two players day-to-day on the injury list and one out indefinitely. Jermaine O’Neal is out with a sprained wrist. The Knicks have only one player day-to-day on the injury list.

Of late, the Knicks are playing much better. They are 10-3 SU over their last 13 games played. However, against Boston they have not fared well. The Knicks are only 1-9 SU over their last 10 games against the Celtics. They are also 0-5 SU in the last five games they have played against Boston in Boston.

Boston has not played well of late. They are just 1-7 ATS in their last eight games. However, at home they play well. They are 7-2 SU and 5-0 SU against the Knicks. The game should be a very low scoring affair with the defense dictating the outcome. Look for the Celtics to win SU, with the Knicks winning ATS and the total UNDER. Bet this now at BetRev
