Lakers vs. Heat Free Pick

March 04, 2012

Gasol in the low post

A possible finals matchup will be played Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles as the Miami Heat visit the Los Angeles Lakers. Both clubs are playing very well at present. Miami has a 28-8 record and leads the Southeast division, while the Lakers are 22-14 and in second place behind the LA Clippers in the Pacific division.

Miami is the league’s highest scoring team averaging 103.7 per game and defensively they are giving up 94.5. They do not have any injuries but Chris Bosh is listed as day-to-day for personal reasons. The Lakers are averaging just 94.1 per game and giving up 91.6. Many of their games have been closer than the Heat’s. The Lakers also do not have any players listed as being injured.

The Heat is 9-1 SU over their last 10 games. On the road, the Heat is 6-1 SU over their last 7 games. Miami also has had the Lakers number, as they are 4-1 SU over the last five games the two have played head to head. However, the Heat is only 1-5 SU over their last 6 games playing at the Staples Center in LA.

The Lakers have won their last four of five SU, with the only loss at Oklahoma City. They are playing well at home this season. Kobe Bryant seems to have recovered from his broken nose and concussion he sustained at the All-Star game thanks to Heat guard Dwayne Wade.

Over the last ten games the two teams have played head to head, each team is 5-5 SU. They match up well with LeBron James running the offensive show for the Heat and Bryant doing it all for the Lakers. The inside game of the Lakers should help against the Heat. Both Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol should control the low post. Lakers ATS and the total will go OVER. Bet now at Intertops Sportsbook.
