Spurs vs. Bobcats Free Pick

March 02, 2012

Spurs tonight for the win

One of the best teams in the league will take on the leagues’ worst when the San Antonio Spurs host the Charlotte Bobcats Friday March 2. The Spurs are 24-11 and are in first place in their division. The Bobcats are just 4-29 and are dead last in their division. The season is already over for the Bobcats as far as playoff possibilities.

Charlotte is 11-22 ATS this season and 7-12 ATS on the road. San Antonio is 20-14-1 ATS and 10-5 ATS at home. San Antonio is averaging nearly 15 more points per game than the Bobcats. Injuries have hurt the Spurs this season and Manu Ginobili is still sidelined with an oblique injury. Bismack Biyombo of the Bobcats is day to day with an injury to his shoulder.

The two have not met since April of last year but their last 10 games head to head have been dominated by the Spurs. San Antonio is 8-2 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in those 10 games. The total has been UNDER in 7 of those same 10 games.

Charlotte has only won four games the entire season so it is not surprising they are just 1-4 SU in their last five games. They lost Wednesday night to a struggling Detroit team 109-94 and are just 1-4 ATS in those same five games.

San Antonio is 3-2 SU and ATS in their last five games. They lost a tight game Wednesday night to the Chicago Bulls. In addition, before the all star break they were walloped by the Portland Trailblazers 137-97. Tony Parker is leading the Spurs in points and assists this season, while veteran center Tim Duncan is leading the team in rebounding.

In this game, the experience and depth of the Spurs should overcome not having Ginobili on the floor. A win SU and ATS is in order for the Spurs against the hapless Bobcats. For Sportsbook Ratings Click Sportsbook Review
