Saturday NCAA Pick Syracuse at UCONN

The second ranked team in the nation, the Syracuse Orange, will travel to Connecticut on February 25 to take on the Connecticut Huskies in Gampel Pavilion. The Orange is leading the Big East with a 15-1 conference record and an overall record of 28-1. The Huskies on the other hand are way down the standings in the Big East and have an overall record of 17-10.

Orangemen Hoops

Syracuse uses a balanced scoring attack to wins its games. Five players average between 9 and 14 points to cover the offensive load of the team. Kris Joseph leads that group with a 14 points per game average. Two players share the teams rebounding chores. C.J. Fair and Fab Melo both average 5.5 boards per game.

Connecticut is led in scoring by Jeremy Lamb who is averaging 17.9 per game. Shabazz Napier chips in with 12.7 points and 5.8 assists per game as the teams playmaker. Leading the team in rebounds with a 7.6 per game average is Andre Drummond.

The head-to-head matchup between both clubs is 6-4 SU in favor of Syracuse over the last ten games. The total has been UNDER 6 times in those same ten games. Connecticut is 5-5 ATS in those same tens games as well.

Syracuse is playing excellent ball as the moment as they are 5-0 SU in their last five games including a win over this same Connecticut team 85-67 at home. Connecticut is just 2-3 SU in their last five games. Their losses include the Huskies, Marquette and Louisville.

The Orange is a far better team than the Huskies this season, but Connecticut plays very well at home. Nevertheless, Syracuse should come out on top SU and ATS in this Big East rivalry. The total should be UNDER as both teams are very defensive minded and the Huskies may look to take the air out of the ball and give the Orange’s offense fewer looks at the basket.
