February 18, 2012

Michigan Cover

A huge Big Ten matchup takes place February 18 in Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as the Buckeyes of Ohio State visit the Wolverines of Michigan. Both teams are playing very well this season and in the thick of things for Big Ten title. Ohio State has a 10-3 conference record, which is good for a tie for first place and their overall record is 22-4. They are currently ranked as the number sixth team in the country. Michigan is in third place in the Big Ten with a record of 9-4 and an overall record of 19-7 good enough to be ranked 17th in the nation.

Jared Sullinger leads the Buckeyes in both scoring and rebounding. He is averaging 17.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Also scoring in double figures for the Buckeyes is William Buford with 15.3 per game and Deshaun Thomas with 14.2 per game.

The Wolverines are not a high scoring team and only have two players averaging in double figures. Tim Hardaway Jr. leads the duo with a 14.3 points per game average while Trey Burke chips in with 14. A host of players also average between 7 and 9 points per games.

Ohio State has a record of 4-1 SU in their last five road games. Michigan is one better at 5-0 SU in their last five home games. Head to head is where Ohio State has dominated for some time. The Buckeyes are 8-2 SU in the last ten games the two have played against one another. In those same ten games, Michigan is 7-3 ATS. That means Ohio State is winning SU but the games are close.

Of late, Ohio State is 4-1 SU with its only loss against Big Ten co-leader Michigan State. Michigan is 3-2 SU in their last five games. That includes a loss to Michigan State and a loss last Sunday to Ohio State. In that game, Ohio State dominated defensively holding Michigan to only 49 points.

Look for Michigan to cover the +5.5 and the Over at 125. Bet these picks now at JustBet.
