NBA Preview and Pick Knicks at Raptors

February 14, 2012

Knicks Pick

The New York Knicks who have won their last five games will travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors onFebruary 14 in Air Canada Centre. Both teams started out their seasons playing terrible ball and only one, the Knicks, have been able to turn it around. The Knicks have won five straight while the Raptors have dropped four of their last five.

Of late, the Knicks have been led by unknown sensation Jeremy Lin. The Harvard graduate has come out of obscurity to lead the team to their five consecutive wins. Carmelo Anthony is the teams high scorer but has been out with a groin injury. Second leading scorer Amare Stoudemire has been out because of his brothers recent death. Lin has stepped in to lead the team in scoring over the last five wins, while center Tyson Chandler has hauled down 10 rebounds a game.

Toronto, who is in 4th place in the Atlantic division with a 9-20 record is led by Andrea Bargnani who is averaging 23.5 points per game, but has been sidelined of late with a calf injury. Picking up the scoring for them has been Jose Calderon and DeMar DeRozan. Amir Johnson is hauling down 6.7 rebounds per game to lead the team in that category. The Raptors lost a close battle to the Lakers Sunday night falling 94-92.

Head to head the teams are tied 5-5 SU over the last ten games they have met. The total has been UNDER 5 times and OVER 5 times in those same ten games. The Knicks are 5-0 SU over the last five games they have played while the Raptors are 1-4 SU.

The Knicks have defeated the likes of the Lakers, Utah and New Jersey over that stretch. The Raptors on the other hand have only been able to defeat Boston in their last five games. If Lin can continue his great offensive play, look for the Knicks to win SU and ATS, Pick is Knicks ML and Knicks -4.
